Mass Effect: Redemption Explodes onto the iPhone!

Yesterday EA and Bioware’s Mass Effect 2 hit major game consoles, and to celebrate, Dark Horse announced that their comic book tie-in Mass Effect: Redemption will be hitting the iPhone. Written by Mass Effect 2 lead writer, Mac Walters, scripted by John Jackson Miller (Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic), and penciled by Omar Francia (Star Wars Legacy), Redemption tells the bask story leading into the events of Mass Effect 2.

“We’ve been trying to figure out a way to not only profit from these new technologies, but to use them in a way that it would drive customers into the stores of our loyal retailers,” said Dirk Wood, Dark Horse Director of Communications. “We came up with the idea of this staggered release in hopes of accomplishing just that.”

Mass Effect: Redemption will hit iTunes Feb. 3, just in time for the second print issue of the series, for $0.99. Redemption joins other Dark Horse titles available on the iPhone like Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite, Hellboy: Seed of Destruction, Terminator: Death Valley.

Comics becoming more and more downloadable seems to be the inevitable future of the medium. It’s great news that we’re getting quality comics available at out finger tips!
