Remember last issue when two of our detectives thought they had a lead in a murder case?  Remember how the stakeout turned into more?  After guns were drawn and doors were kicked, they solved the murder!  High-five, right?  Wrong!  The victim beat the detectives to the guilty killer.  Wait!  The victim solved its own murder?  Yes.  The victim was also judge, jury, and executioner!  Welcome to Judge Zombie’s court!  All rise.

One of the victims in the first issue came back to life; a zombie hell-bent on revenge.  But it seems that after the zombie returns the favor and kills its killer, the zombie dies.  These zombies are one-time use only.

One murder solved, one more to go.  After some questionable detective methods with security camera footage, our other team of detectives is off to investigate the driver of a hit and run accident.  This killer is a little more lucky than the last.  The detectives get there in time and figure out a way to contain the zombie.  How often do you see a zombie in a jail cell?  How often do you see a zombie!?  That’s exactly what the police don’t know.  How did this zombie become a zombie?  What does this zombie want?  There’s one man who can answer those questions…  A man with a past.  A man with a deep, dark secret.  He’s just walked through the precinct doors.  He’s ready to talk.

The rain has finally stopped in Raven Gregory and Vic Drujiniu’s brilliant, beautiful, and bloody world but the whodunit continues!  It has become more of a whoarethey, instead though.  The focus is now fully on the undead stalkers.  Gregory has written a new twist on the world of zombies and Drujiniu brings his words to life with an elegant, yet grotesque, clarity.

I hope you have been picking up this book each month.  It really deserves your attention.  It is also well worth the $3.99 price tag it wears on its eye-popping covers!  There is only one issue left.  There will be lots more action.  There will be lots more blood…

A side note for the more conservative readers: This issue contains nudity.

There’s no denying how great the art looks in this series! I can’t find any of the issues at my LCS, so I’ll check it out in TPB!

  2. Billy

OK, two things. First, that top cover creeps me out bigtime! Second, the “zombie buffet” pic gives me a chubby. That is all.

  3. Kristin

Um…ew? That girl looks like her insides are seeping our of her. Gross.

  4. Aron

Kristin, I think she has someone else’s insides spread all over her. Billy likes it!

Love this series and though some things about it are a bit questionable the overall story is just a great read. I’m glad we get a bit more explanation about what’s going on in this issue and things begin to make a lot more sense.

That’s true. It is pretty cool, despite magic thongs and impossible side-view mirror views…
