As a self professed nerd I take part in the age old pastime of pitting two of my favorite characters against one another. Black Panther VS Batman, Superman VS Blue Marvel, Doop VS Impossible man. Adding to that canon of greatest battles is Wookie and Sarlacc. In Becker&Mayer!Kids STAR WARS BATTLE CRIES: CREATURES VS. ALIENS, writer Pablo Hidalgo and illustrator Scott Park sets up these battles for you and your kids’ entertainment.

One thing I want to find out however, is what classifies what is a creatures and what is an aliens. I mean if they are all from a galaxy far, far away aren’t they all alien creatures to us?

Not only do you get 5 epic battles broken up via short stories but you also get encyclopedic entries about each combatant’s stats. Did you know that Rathtar’s are from the planet Twon Ketee and they have an average length of 20 feet (6 meters). What is gonna be a blast for kids and also what sets this book apart from your own head canon is you can hear the creatures and aliens iconic call to arms. That may be a toss up for parents if they’re willing to hear Wookiees all day long. So if you want to fill the void in your kids’ lives, or your own, until the new installment in the Skywalker Saga of Star Wars pick this up!
