Coming out in early February from Dark Horse is Mesmo Delivery, a trippy, full color 80 page trade for only $9.99 written and drawn by upstart artist, Rafael Grampá. The pitch for the book reads as:
“When the Mesmo Delivery truck rolls into town, a heap of trouble is sure to follow. Eisner Award-winning artist Rafael Grampá (5, Hellblazer) makes his full-length comics debut with the critically acclaimed graphic novel Mesmo Delivery — a kinetic, bloody romp starring Rufo, an ex-boxer; Sangrecco, an Elvis impersonator; and a ragtag crew of overly confident drunks who pick the wrong delivery men to mess with.” Sounds pretty cool to me, and after scoping out the art I think you’ll agree that this story is one worth checking out:
Without a doubt the hook for me with this book is the artwork. I mean just look at it; it sets the mood and totally has its own unique feel via the color scheme, which is further enhanced by the off white pages. Very cool. Look for Mesmo Delivery at your LCS on February 3, 2010!
