Motor Crush returns with a focus on the past as this issue puts Sullivan Swift front and center. Before now all we knew was that he was THE man to beat on the race track and became Dominio’s father under some mysterious circumstances.

Now don’t expect a slow paced walk down memory lane because life in Nova Honda is anything but. There’s a growing crime syndicate making waves and Sullivan ended up on the wrong side of business with them. What’s great here is that even though we’ve seen this set up before the creative team keeps it fresh in the world of Motor Crush. The pacing and twists are exceptional and makes for an unexpected tale. This doesn’t just end up being a deeper look at the Swift family but that mysterious substance known as Crush along with a new character named Julianne.

Cameron Stewart handles the art in this issue and he kills it on every page. Syncing with the narrative and moving things along at a breakneck pace when needed especially when we get to see the Crush Effect made even better with colors from Heather Danforth and Babs Tarr. There’s also a hint that synthesizing crush has done something strange to Julie with the subtle color changes of her eyes in certain panels. Just more stunning visual storytelling from start to finish whether it’s a 13 yr old Domino and her dad having a tender moment or a violent action sequence that ends in blood.

Motor Crush has more twists and turns than the Nova Honda Grand Prix and I’m here for it! The storytelling on all fronts is worth your time and it looks as if it’s only going to get better!
