Considering the subtitle of this series, it is particularly interesting that Patrick Gleason would center the story around a year in Damian’s life, that Batman was not even a part of. Presumably this was an editorial mandate and not actually something he had a choice in. Regardless, Damian’s year of atonement continues on as and Goliath head to South America. The premise of this series has potential and could be fantastic. Keeping in mind that when Damian first entered the world of comics he was an absolute psychotic brat, his present day journey to atone for his sins is likely going to be filled with a lot of action, humor, and some great character development. Given all that, however, there’s something that hasn’t quite clicked into place yet. Damian has always been at his best, while interacting with others, which may be why this series has thus far felt off. His sarcasm, his sharp tongue, and his rather amusing insults only work if there’s someone on the receiving end and hopefully Nobody II is being brought in for precisely that reason. 3.5/5
