Age of Ultron #10AI (Marvel)
Jeff: This entire Age of Ultron thing is such a complete waste of time. Please, no more.
All-New X-Men #13 (Marvel)
Arnab: Why does Wolverine care if Mystique buys Madripoor? Also, I’m hating Jean Grey, so Lady Mastermind mentally smacking her around is awesome. A-
Jeff: I love that Mystique buys Madripoor from Viper and Lady Mastermind works her voodoo on Jean. Excellent!
Avengers Arena #11 (Marvel)
Jeff: Disappointing issue. Instead of telling us what happened to Nico, we got a filler issue on lame-ass Hazmat.
Batman/Superman #1 (DC)
Arnab: This was a nice strong first issue. Unfortunately, I’m sick of these stories set in the past. Screw origins, nobody needs ’em. B
Dr. Bustos: Love the look of Gotham. A
Jeff: Ok, I gave this a chance. The intro was well-done, but the follow through didn’t work for me.
Jeff Lake: Bats and Supes together for the first time…again. Pak’s script is fun, but it’s Jae Lee who steals the show. B+
Bounce #2 (Image)
Jeff: Ok, I don’t get this book. What is he trying to go for here?
Fatale #15 (Image)
Dr. Bustos: Back to the serial plot and things are back to 1995. A
FF #8 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: I love Tong and the return of the Thing Ring. A
Jeff: Best panel of the week – Dr. Doom throwing a goblet at Alex Power. Priceless!
Gambit #14 (Marvel)
Arnab: This was a decent enough one-shot. B
Jeff: When even Khoi Pham doesn’t bother to finish drawing the panels, you know you have a problem.
Guardians of the Galaxy #4 (Marvel)
Arnab: I still don’t like Iron Man in this book. Also, Gamora is way out of his league. B
Jeff: I thought Gamora shouldn’t have been portrayed as such a damsel in distress in this issue. And why is Iron Man in this book?
Hawkeye #11 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: Dog, dog, dog! Comic of the year. A++
Lazarus #1 (Image)
Jeff Lake: Enticing debut that leaves you wanting more; Terminator with feelings! A
Mouse Guard: Legends of the Guard Vol. 2 #1 (Archaia)
Jeff: Such a sweet and simple concept. In a sea of superhero books, this is a welcome refuge.
The Private Eye #3 (Panel Syndicate)
Jeff: That Grampa character can be in this every issue.
Secret Avengers #5 (Marvel)
Jeff: Great storytelling in this issue, and AIM is proving to be a viable threat for once!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #23 (IDW)
Arnab: Holy Turtles, Batman! This book is off the chain awesome. The paralleling through the issue was awesome. A
Jeff Lake: This book is already shaping up to be one of the best Turtle’s tales ever. Man I love being a turtle (fan)! A
Uncanny X-Force #7 (Marvel)
Jeff: I can’t do it anymore. This book downright sucks!
Uncanny X-Men #7 (Marvel)
Arnab: I never really liked Magik, until now that is. She’s all kinds of awesome. A-
Jeff: So Magik is being trained by past Dr. Strange? I think I like this concept!
The Wake #2 (Vertigo)
Arnab: Snyder and Murphy make a perfect pairing. This is book is equal parts creepy, exciting, and fun. A
Jeff: Murphy’s art looks like it’s from the ’70s. I’m loving the creepiness.
Jeff Lake: Slower than issue #1, but still moody and atmospheric. Snyder is making mermaids scary. Give the man a raise. A-
Wolverine #5 (Marvel)
Jeff: The concept was intriguing, but the art was atrocious. This book is faltering.
Wolverine & the X-Men #32 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: Wolverine has a bunch of Bamfs on leashes teleport him around the world, wonderful. A
Jeff: I think before Bendis came on All-New X-Men, this was a stronger book. Now that there’s something to compare it with, this isn’t working for me.
X-Men #2 (Marvel)
Arnab: Every time Beast shows up, I’m hoping it’s because he’s being killed off. Rogue being an Avenger makes me like her less. B+
Dr. Bustos: Beast shows up and Kitty Pride does some awesome fighting. A
Jeff: I’m surprised by how much I like this. But once Coipel leaves, I’m sure it will drop. I like his darker style.
Young Avengers #6 (Marvel)
Arnab: Ho My Damn! That spread with Tommy doing his job was just fantastic. A
Dr. Bustos: I love Prodigy and his powers. B+
