Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 04/13/16

A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong #2 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: Glad these guys are back and just as great as ever!

A-Force #4 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Wilson and Thompson are writing the best post Secret Wars title hands down!

All-New, All-Different Avengers #8 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: A solid issue but Standoff can wrap up now. Thank you.

All-New Inhumans #6 (Marvel)
NickZ: Everywhere the Inhumans go, trouble seems to follow… or they seem to create it.

all new xmen 8 All-New X-Men #8 (Marvel)
Arnab: Even young Beast is whiny. Doctor Strange is as useless as ever.
NickZ: This is the first issue that I actually liked of this book. Beast and the Doctor make Strange bedfellows!

Batman/Superman #31 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Oddly, I enjoyed this issue more than some of the more recent ones, which is sad since the title is ending.

Batman / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #5 (DC/IDW)
Arnab: Damian and the Turtles is literally my youth and my adult life becoming bffs.
NickZ: I can totally see Damian and the Turtles becoming besties!
Infinite Speech: I thought this series couldn’t get better then Damian shows up!

Black Road #1 (Image)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. Brown’s characteristic art lifts this score, but the story & setting introduced are quite compelling also.

Catwoman #51 (DC)
NickZ: For two people who hate each other, Selina and Black Mask can’t seem to stay away from each other.

Darth Vader #19 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Vader is a beast and Gillen is writing him when he’s at the top of his Sith game!

deadly class 20Deadly Class #20 (Image)
NickZ: I need this to be a Netflix series already! It is way too fantastic not to be.

Deja Thoris #3 (Dynamite)
Infinite Speech: Barbiere makes this such a great story for Deja Thoris noobs like myself!

Erathune #1 (Stranger)
Infinite Speech: Stranger Comics has put out nothing but quality stories and Erathune is another you should check out!

Gotham Academy #17 (DC)
NickZ: These yearbook anthology stories are the best! I love all the great guest appearances!

I Am A Hero Omnibus (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: Not liking the main character but everything else about this story is pretty solid.

The Legend of Wonder Woman #4 (DC)
NickZ: This series continues to amaze with the introduction of Etta Candy!
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. This book has some spectacular art & one of the best origin stories of Wonder Woman in recent years

Mockingbird #2 (Marvel)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. Although slightly different in style, issue #2 is still a fun read with a great, stylish aesthetic.

Moon Knight #1 (Marvel)
NickZ: I am having an existential crisis now, thanks a lot Jeff Lemire and Greg Smallwood!
Infinite Speech: I was very skeptical at first but that Jeff Lemire guy writes a damn good issue here!

Red Hood Arsenal #11 (DC)
Arnab: Honestly, one of the better issues of the last couple of months.
NickZ: Roy and Jason pay the price for past mistakes.

Rocket Raccoon and Groot #4 (Marvel)rrag 4
NickZ: A bunch of Marvel characters play D&D and it’s the best! Also, Aaron Conley’s art is fantastic!

Samurai #2 (Titan)
Infinite Speech: A fantastic story that immeres you into the time period with stunning art and tense character moments.

Spawn #262 (Image)
Infinite Speech: This arc was a huge turning point for Spawn but it wasn’t as fun as it could have been.

Starfire #11 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Fun & “flirty” art complement a surprisingly touching story between Starfire, Atlee, & Stella.

Star Wars Special C-3PO #1 (Marvel)
NickZ: Learning how 3PO got his red arm was NOT worth five bucks.

X-Men’92 #2 (Marvel)
NickZ: X-Men! Upstarts! Vampires! What more can you ask for?
