Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 03/24/13

A + X #6 (Marvel)
Jeff: This issue has two stories of superheroes playing poker. If you like watching people play cards, then you might like this. Otherwise, this book stinks like wet donkey turds.

Age of Ultron #3 (Marvel)
Jeff: Three. Whole. Issues. Of. People. Standing. Around. Planning. I think Marvel needs to look up the word “event.”

Aquaman #18 (DC)
Arnab: I don’t care if he’s king now, Aquaman’s an idiot for leaving Mera. A-

Astonishing X-Men #60 (Marvel)
Jeff: Too many characters. I couldn’t keep up. This is a waste.

Batman Incorporated #9 (DC)
Arnab: There is nothing I want more than for Damian to ride in on Bat-Cow and be all, “I’m back suckas!” A
Dr. Bustos: The scene with Bat-Cow may be the saddest reaction to this whole loss. A

Batman: The Dark Knight #18 (DC)
Arnab: This title needs a reboot. C+

Deadpool Killustrated #3 (Marvel)
Arnab: For someone who did not particularly enjoy reading dense literature in school, I love this. Now if only Deadpool would behead Shakespeare, that would be entertaining. A

Doctor Who #7 (IDW)
Jeff: This idea would make a great episode of the show, but the art took it down.

East of West #1 (Image)
Arnab: Just from this first issue you can tell this will be epic. That being said, everyone will not like this. A

Fantastic Four #5AU (Marvel)
Jeff: Ok, now I realize that these AU issues are completely superfluous.

Fatale #13 (Image)
Dr. Bustos: I am absolutely loving these flashback stories. A

FF #5 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: Her hair is so big because it’s full of secrets. A
Jeff: Willie Lumpkin teaching the birds and the bees made me laugh out loud.

The Flash #9 (DC)
Arnab: Trickster is one of my favorite Flash rogues. He’s just plain fun. A
Dr. Bustos: I love when Trickster shows up, it’s always fun to see Flash have to deal with one of his light-hearted rogues. A

Gambit #10 (Marvel)
Arnab: Hmm. It was aight. Clay Mann’s art is so f’n badass though, that it makes everything better. B+
Dr. Bustos: I always love a good adventure and I hope Fence is okay. A
Jeff: This book is starting to lose me.

Guardians of the Galaxy #1 (Marvel)
Arnab: I really want to like this book and this issue was a great start, but the part of me that hates all things Stark wants to drop this like it’s hot. (Yeah, I said it, I’m reliving my youth, deal.) B+
Jeff: I really don’t like Iron Man in this book, but I’ll stick around for a bit to see what happens.

I, Vampire #18 (DC)
Arnab: I am so mad that this book is ending. Shame on all of you for not giving this book the numbers it deserves. A

The Legend of Luther Strode #4 (Image)
Arnab: The bloodiest, bone-crushingest, wtf-momentingest comic book you will ever read. Pick it up, read it, then be sure to pick your jaw off the ground. A

Morning Glories #25 (Image)
Jeff: Ok, that’s it. I’m done. We were promised some answers and were given none.

Rachel Rising #15 (Abstract Studios)
Jeff: I hate rats so this book really freaked me out.

Superior Spider-Man #6AU (Marvel)
Jeff: You can skip this one, too.

Teen Titans #18 (DC)
Arnab: I don’t know what DC editorial was thinking letting this cover go to print. Why in the world is Tim smiling at dead Damian’s costume? On an issue stamped Requiem? C

Thunderbolts #7 (Marvel)
Arnab: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this book would be infinitely better with the Red Hulk.

Uncanny Avengers #5 (Marvel)
Jeff: Coipel makes everything look great. This was the best issue yet.

Uncanny X-Force #3 (Marvel)
Jeff: Wow…this book…is lame.

Wolverine & the X-Men #27 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: I never thought I’d say “I hope Quentin Quire is okay.” A
Jeff: What is going on with this book? This Dog Logan crap is awful!

Young Avengers #3 (Marvel)
Arnab:I’m Tyrion!” Yes! Yes! So much yes! Gillen and McKelvie are absolutely killing it with this title. A
