Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 02/25/15

All-New X-Men #38 (Marvel)
Arnab: This is the best I’ve seen Sorrentino’s art in a long time.
Infinite Speech:
Andrea Sorrentino’s art gave this one a retro yet modern sci-fi feel and was the best thing about this issue. Beast & Angel also spent too much time complimenting each other.

Amazing Spider-Man #15 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: WOW! Spider-Verse was FUN! Could we also be in store for more Superior Spider-Man?! I hope so!

4412563-38Amazing X-Men #17 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Ugh…somebody just punch me for reading this.

Batman #39 (DC)
Arnab: I don’t know how this can possibly end but I am absolutely loving it.
Martin:
4.5/5 stars. This is one of the creepiest, most unsettling portrayals of the Joker yet – a calm, cool, and detached psycho.

Batman Eternal #47 (DC)
Arnab: Is it Hush? Is it Ivy? Is there even a villain?
Martin:
3/5 stars. It’s starting to feel like this is not actually going to be resolved by the end of this year – super annoying

Colder: The Bad Seed #5 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: Tobin and Ferreyra close out another creepy as hell chapter in the Colder series and it was great!

Curb Stomp #1 (BOOM!)
Infinite Speech: Put together a 70s Grindhouse film, The Warriors, a dash of Outsiders, and top it off with some of the best Punk Rock ever then you’ve got this gem here!

Cyberforce #11 (Top Cow)
Infinite Speech: These characters are why I started reading Top Cow all those years ago and will continue to!

Darth Vader #2 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: How many $#@!s does Vader give? Not one.

Earth 2 World’s End #21 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Slightly better than the past few weeks. The art is what brings the score up, but the still needs help

Flash #39 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. There’s some fun stuff going on here but with only 1 issue left before Convergence, I’d like to see more happening.

Gotham By Midnight #4 (DC)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. This is such a spectacular book with awesome Templesmith art but it’s getting lost among Bat-overload.

He-Man: The Eternity War #3 (DC)
Infinite Speech: If the mythos continues to be this rich and fun this should end up being one great event!

Justice League Dark #39 (DC)
Martin: 2.5/5 stars. Another “I’m going to destroy all creation & time” villain. Too bad – this book could be so much more.

New 52 Futures End #44 (DC)tmnt 43
Martin: 2/5 stars. A lot of stuff almost happens, but in the end it’s a big letdown. Nothing happens to advance the story.

New Avengers #30 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: I’m kind of ready for the payoff now, Hickman. Really…it’s been a while.

Spider-Gwen #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: I wish there was more put into the story here than into how many alternate covers Marvel could put out. Still a fun issue though.

Suiciders #1 (Vertigo)
Infinite Speech: Lee Bermejo and Matt Hollingsworth give you every reason to want to check out this new series after finishing this issue!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #43 (IDW)
Arnab: Is there any rebooted book that is as good as this one? Unlikely.
Infinite Speech: Donnie vs Beebop and Rocksteady. Turtle soup anyone? And Splinter needs to just beat the hell out of Old Hob. Period.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutanimals #1 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: Never read the original series but this was packed with over the top mutant fun!
