Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 01/30/13

Adventure Time #12 (kaboom!)
Dr. Bustos: Wizards galore and Lump Space Princess, of course I’m going to enjoy this one. A

Aquaman #16 (DC)
Arnab: There is something remarkably amusing about Aquaman needed  Batman’s help to see at the bottom of the ocean. A-

Avengers #4 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech:
It looked nice but….yawn…zzz

Batman and Robin Annual #1 (DC)
Arnab: My favorite issue of the series so far. Tomasi has never written Damian better than this. A
Dr. Bustos:
Now something bad has to happened cause that was actually a really sweet story, right? A

Batman Incorporated #7 (DC)
Arnab: Joker may be hot stuff in Gotham, but the al Ghul family takes the villainous cake when it comes to global affairs. A
Dr. Bustos: This is where that other shoe is going to drop isn’t it? Issue 8? Aww, nuts. A

Batman: The Dark Knight #16 (DC)
Arnab: I was ready to drop this book after that Scarecrow chapter, but this issue’s kept me on. For now. Hopefully this arc isn’t as extended as the last. B

Doctor Who: Prisoners of Time #1 (IDW)
Jeff: This is one of the annoying things about classic Doctor Who for me. They don’t introduce these characters at all and just expect everyone who reads this to be a longtime fan.

Executive Assistant: Iris #2 (Aspen)
Infinite Speech:
Still one of my favorite assassins!

The Flash #16 (DC)
Arnab:
We want Iris! We want Iris! We want Iris! We get it, this a new universe where anything can happen. Now bring back Iris and Barry please? đŸ™‚ A

Flash Gordon: Zeitgeist #9 (Dynamite)
Infinite Speech:
This series has been kicking ass since the first issue and it’s only getting better!

Hawkeye #7 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: Hope everyone everwhere bought this one to help with the storm relief. A+

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #6 (DC Comics)
Infinite Speech:
Definitely a surprise hit and wait until you find out who betrayed the heroes in the first place!!

Injustice: Gods Among Us #1 (DC)
Dr. Bustos: Booo! Hiss! F

Invincible #100 (Image)
Dr. Bustos: So we go back to an old routine with a lot of people dead, not sure how I feel about this one. B

I, Vampire #16 (DC)
Arnab: Really bummed this series is ending. DC should maybe advertise their good books that don’t get a lot of readership, instead of advertising their top sellers. Just saying, they’re already selling. A

Mara #2 (Image)
Arnab: While the first issue has a slower, introductory pace, this issue kicks into high gear. Excellent issue. A-
Dr. Bustos: The fall out begins after Mara’s display of power. B

Rachel Rising #14 (Abstract Studios)
Jeff: This was the first issue of this that I didn’t care for. A very slow pace and I forgot who some of the characters were.

Spawn #227 (Image)
Infinite Speech:
McFarlane takes this issue alllll the way back to the beginning with reveals and ties between Al Simmons and Jim Downing! Great effin’ issue!

Superior Spider-Man #2 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Not bad but not too good either. Though Doc Ock trying to score with Mary Jane was pretty funny.
Jeff: Ouch! This issue was disappointing. Did Stegman draw this in one day?

Teen Titans #16 (DC Comics)
Arnab:
Jason Todd is like the brother Tim never had? WTF?! D
Infinite Speech:
Seeing Red Robin and Red Hood work together was great and so was this issue!

X-Men Legacy #5 (Marvel)
Jeff: The origin of Blindfold is featured in this issue and seems terribly prescriptive.
