Sometimes a friend is the person who sticks with you through thick and thin. Other times, a friend is the person who starts a very successful business who then spends the rest of their days ensuring said company is ready to help you and your descendants for generations. The Speedwagon Foundation is one such organization, ready to help the world, but also, on family in particular. So what is the Speedwagon Foundation and who are they helping? Let’s find out!
Robert E.O. Speedwagon would survive on the mean streets of England, mainly Ogre Street, the toughest street to survive on. His ambitions and smarts allowed him to become a gang leader, where he and his crew would attack and steal from anyone foolish enough to come across them. That is, until one Johnathan Joestar came looking for help from an apothecary on the street. Normally, Robert’s gang would easily take down one opponent but this man was not only able to stop all those who opposed him, he did so while being sure to leave them alive.
This stunned Robert, someone was willing to be so considerate of others, even when his own life was on the line, to ensure his attackers the least amount of harm to stop them, he’d never seen anything like this. It was at this moment that Robert dedicated his life to aiding Johnathan for the rest of his days. They would go one many adventures but when it was time to move on, Robert would move to America, seeking his fortune.
He would find his money in oil fields, quickly becoming one of the richest people in the world at a young age. Inspired by the kindness and generosity of the Joestars, who were also wealthy and compassionate, Robert would begin the Speedwagon Foundation. This organization would mainly focus on medical research and technology, but would have other branches, focusing on the paranormal, from Robert’s adventuring days with Johnathan, he knew the world was far stranger than many perceived.
The Joestar family would continue to have children who would grow into adventuring adults, and while Robert was only alive to see Johnathan’s grandson’s adventures, the Speedwagon Foundation was dedicated to aiding the rest of the family when they could. Offering anything from transportation, research facilities, and even a standing army, the Speedwagon Foundation is ready to help deal with any threat, whether it be ancient vampires or powerful artefacts.
There you have it! The Speedwagon Foundation is a series spanning company that has been a key backbone factor in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Whether it was Robert himself in Part 1 and 2, or his Foundation from Part 2 onward, the Speedwagon name is to be trusted. See you next time!
