Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 3/21/2012

Amazing Spider-Man #682 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Slott and Caselli are one of the best duos working in comics today!
Jeff: Having Caselli back on the book is great. If you haven’t been reading ASM, this is a good jumping-on point.

Avengers: X-Sanction #4 (Marvel)
Arnab: Scott blasting Spiderman of the boat was awesome. Hope healing Cable, even more awesome.
Infinite Speech:
That ship and weapons will come into play during AvsX I bet you! Nice finish and set up to the big fight on the horizon!
Jeff: Um…so Cable is alive, and doesn’t have the techno-virus anymore?
NickZ: Nice set  up for A vs. X! Cyclops blasting Spidey was pretty cool

Batman #7 (DC)
Arnab: This is why you read comics. The art and writing blend together perfectly to make on hell of a Batman story.
Dr. Bustos: The twist with Nightwing feels like it’s going to have more repercussions down the line, I’m alright with the resurrecting Owl assassins thing (it’s ridiculous enough to be cool fun).
Infinite Speech: The Court is gearing up to kick Gotham’s ass and Bruce punches the $#!& out of Nightwing! Very good issue!
NickZ: This Owl business is getting serious! Doesn’t look to good for Bats.

Batman: Odyssey #6 (DC)
Dr. Bustos: This book is so weird that I can’t help but enjoy it even with its wonky story telling. I mean Batman rides a giant bat and fights giant eagles then he fights a cyclops.

Birds of Prey #7 (DC)
NickZ: Batgirl is really making the series for me, right now.

Blue Beetle #7 (DC)
Dr. Bustos: I think I read this because I keep hoping it’ll be more fun like its prior series but all its doing is pushing away down a darker that I’m just not into.

Catwoman #7 (DC)
Arnab: I am loving this book. It’s got great violence, a hint of recklessness, and a whole lot of awesomeness.
NickZ:
If you like sex and violence (who doesn’t?), you will love this book!

Deadpool #52 (Marvel)
Arnab:
Without a doubt, the best Deadpool stories since Deadpool & Cable ended.
NickZ:
This is definitely one of the best Deadpool stories…ever?

Generation Hope #17 (Marvel)
Arnab:
This book was really getting good, it’s a shame to see it go.
Jeff:
It’s too bad this series ended… they finally got a good creative team on there.
NickZ: Goodbye Zero, Goodbye Generation Hope.

Infestation 2: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (IDW)
Arnab: This was good clean fun. Well, dirty fun, but still, great fun.
Infinite Speech: The Turtles should fight grotesque monsters in the sewers more often if the stories are going to be this fun!

Invincible Iron Man #514 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: This one has everything getting set up by the Mandarin and Tony is crashing hard because of his machinations, the government always ends up falling for the bad guys’ shtick.
Infinite Speech: Tony is now at Stane’s beck and call? That’s enough to make a man start drinking aga…oh, yeah.

Justice League #7 (DC)
Arnab: Why is Hal Jordan five? Or even in this book? Why is Wonder Woman being transported when she can fly? Why is this book such a mess?
Infinite Speech: Hal hasn’t been this much of a pain since pre Sinestro Corps War. Why are we going backwards? Nice Shazam follow up story though.
NickZ: What the actual F#*K?!? This was just crap.

New Mutants #39 (Marvel)
Jeff: I kept thinking if this was drawn by anyone else, I would really be interested in the story!
NickZ: Self is just annoying, never make him lead or narrate EVER AGAIN!

Nightwing #7 (DC)
Arnab:
Nightwing just got placed smack dab in the middle of this owl business.
NickZ:
Holy glitch in the matrix, Batman! I think I’ve read this somewhere before.

Red Hood and the Outlaws #7 (DC)
Arnab: Lobdell is doing an amazing job with this title. And Rocafort’s art continues to dazzle and shine.
Infinite Speech:
Lobdell & Rocafort are delivering some fantastic things with this series! My favorite of the New 52 hands down!
NickZ: Still lovin this book, cant’ wait until Red Robin shows up and brings Jason into the Night of the Owls business.

Snake Eyes #11 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: The title alone should just tell you that this book is filled with plenty of “cool” to keep you satisfied!

Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi – Force Storm #2 (Dark Horse)
Infinte Speech: With Duursema and Ostrander on this title the Star Wars franchise couldn’t be in better hands!

Super Dinosaur #9 (Skybound)
NickZ:
So much stuff going on in this issue. Best kids book out there1

Supergirl # 7 (DC)
NickZ:
Does Supergirl have some kind of Solar Attack Power now? And why do her knee/boot things bother me so?

T.H.U.N.D.E.R Agents #5 (DC)
Arnab:
We’re almost at the finish line and this just goes to show you that it ain’t over till it’s over.

Thunderbolts #171 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: I’m a big fan of this series, but I hated this issue, it was gross and I was either rolling my eyes at the cheesecake art or be repulsed by the page of foot licking. Songbird solo story and they make it one of the worst I’ve read in a while.
Infinite Speech: Parker and Walker just keep making this book one of the best to come out of Marvel! The part with the feet had me dying!

Witchblade #154 (Top Cow)
Infinite Speech: The flashback to former Artifact wielders was awesome and that was about it.

Wolverine #303 (Marvel)
Jeff: Can someone tell me why Billy Tan insists on giving Sabretooth spiked hair with a headband?
NickZ: So Sabretooth is actually smart now? um… ok.

Wonder Woman #7 (DC)
Dr. Bustos: This one is also a favorite of mine, but I’m not a fan of the darker version of the Amazons, the rest of the story is still cool “gods in the modern day” but that Amazon retcon is not good at all
NickZ: Great Greek Mythology stuff going on in this book, I love it!

X-Factor #233 (Marvel)
Arnab: Did I miss where Havoc and Polaris decided to join team Logan? In any case, I love ’em but I don’t want them on this book.
Jeff:
I can already tell that I’m not going to enjoy Havok and Polaris back in this book. They’re stealing panel time from Madrox!
Nick:Z Peter David seems to have found a way to make old, new again! Awesome!
