Writer: Jim Zub
Artist: Edwin Huang
Cover: Edwin Huang & Misty Coats

The break is officially over and Skullkickers is back on the shelves for our enjoyment! If you haven’t had the joy of reading this title then this is a pretty safe jumping on point, even at its 25th issue. Mainly because Zub provides a pretty thorough recap page that gives you the bare bones of what’s been happening up to this point. Of course going back and getting the full story is wayyy better, but that can come later.  For now, we’ve got two versions of our main characters along with the Elvish Assassin, Kusia. While Dead Rolf is having problems of his own, the others are caught in a vicious fight against Dwarven Snow Swimmers! They’re a lot more deadly than they sound so don’t sell ’em short.

Zub continues to provide plenty of what has made this title great and consistently fun to read. Whether he’s providing laugh-out-loud moments or just great story development it’s worth turning the page to see how everything plays out. He also gives Edwin Huang some great scenes to draw, which only heighten the overall storytelling in this book. If you’re new to the series and haven’t seen his art teamed with Misty Coats’s colors, then after looking at the pages in Skullkickers your eyes will probably jump out of your head and kiss your face in gratitude! If that doesn’t happen you might want to have them checked.

This was a pretty fast paced issue and seemed to be over pretty quickly, though as usual Zub throws in a kicker (no pun intended…well maybe) of a surprise and cliffhanger in the final pages of the issue. All in all you owe it to yourself to give Skullkickers a try, and any longtime reader will be happy to know that the hilarity and madness you’ve come to expect continues here!

Till next time!
