Tonight from 9pm-2am, Collector’s Paradise in Los Angeles will be celebrating the release of the final chapter in the Scott Pilgrim saga by Bryan Lee O’Malley: Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour!
Working at a comic shop may not provide health care, but it does allow me to read the occasional comic book before it’s released. On Saturday, I read Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour and in short, I thought it was great! It was a fast read (about 45 minutes), but every loose end gets tied up and I felt very satisfied with the story’s resolution. It wasn’t as “funny” as the previous volumes, but that’s ok because it is more fulfilling. Basically just buy it tonight and read it right away. It kicks ass.
Collector’s Paradise will have a plethora of copies for sale which will become available at midnight. The store is also offering free beer and snacks to all who attend, a DJ spinning all night long, and even a sale! Here’s the press release from the store:
