The trailer for Matrix Resurrections has arrived and it looks fantastic! Now that could be the nostalgia talking as there’s plenty of call backs to the original movie peppered throughout. From characters defying the laws of physics while doing crazy kung fu moves, stopping bullets in mid air, sentinels, and more.
However, it also raises several questions since it looks as if Thomas Anderson aka Neo has forgotten who he is and is on a steady diet of blue pills. He’s meeting Trinity for the “first” time and the appearance of Yaya Abul- Mateen II’s character who looks an awful lot like Morpheus. Is this a younger version of the character? Is he someone entirely new? Well watch the trailer and decide for yourself!
Matrix Resurrections is written by Lana Wachowski, Aleksander Hemon, and David Mitchell and directed by Wachowski.
We’ll have to waita few more months to find out the aftermath of the human/machine war that came to it’s conclusion (or so we thought) in 2003’s Matrix Revolutions. Maybe when this is all over Neo and Trinity will get the happy ending they were denied the first time around.
Matrix Resurrections will be in theaters and on HBO Max December 22nd.
