These scenes happened again (or for the first time, if you drank Joe Quesada’s Kool-Aid), only with brand new dialog. That’s right. Exact same images. What a way to zip right through your art chores, huh? Makes me kind of jealous that I didn’t have new carpet to lay on top of the dirty one that my mom wanted me to vacuum when I was a kid.
Remember how I was mad about where things were headed at the end of last issue? Well, I’m still mad. Yes, Peter Parker tells MJ how the world forgot about his secret identity. Joe Quesada was successful in striking that from the record books. He also gave us a tiny flicker of hope, as did the conclusion to One More Day, but then like the school yard bully, he yanked it away Indian giver style.
Now, can we agree as a whole to omit O.M.I.T. and get on with the adventures of everybody’s favorite, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man fighting bad guys? Good! Because Mark Waid and Paul Azaceta give us The Amazing Spider-Man #642: “Origin of the Species”, which was also released on the same day that this mess finally ended.
