You may be unaware, but ComicAttack.net’s very own friendly neighborhood SpidermanGeek is a bit of a grease monkey. I’ve been known to turn a wrench now and then, and enjoy doing routine maintenance on my vehicles, so it may come as no surprise that I like to wear exactly these kinds of shirts.

What a dashing fellow!

After placing my order, the package arrived in a very timely manner, especially considering that I live in the Great White North which sometimes can be frustrating when dealing with American distributors. The item itself came in this really cool plastic shipping envelope with the SuperHeroStuff branding and everything you would need to contact them should you have an issue with the item you ordered. They even include a simple to use return/exchange form with a pre-printed return label for your convenience.

Warning! Package contains extremely awesome materials. Open with pure excitement!

The shirt came wrapped in typical fashion, complete with an easy to spot “size” label to avoid having to tear open the plastic should the sizing tag on the shirt not be visible. Everything looked good up to this point since it was exactly the size that I ordered.

Without further adieu, let’s take this sucker for a spin, shall we?

The first thing that caught my eye was the fact that this shirt is as authentic as they come thanks to the signature bright orange clothing label from Red Kap Industrial Wear. Whoa! This thing’s a legit work shirt!

The label itself has all of the clothing info you might be looking for like size, materials, and washing instructions. Like many of Red Kap’s work shirt products, this Stark Industries shirt is made of a 4.25oz permanent press poplin weave comprised of a 65% polyester/35% cotton blend. This makes it both extremely durable as well as comfortable. An added benefit to this material is that it’s not only easy to iron, but also resistant to wrinkling. And check out those quality seams!

The shirt sports two, count’em… TWO, embroidered badges on each breast above the pockets. The left side breast pocket even has a nifty designated space for holding your favorite pen or pencil. Fashionable AND functional!

I chose the XL size by making use of the sizing chart found on the SuperHeroStuff page for this specific item. The fit was slightly larger than I expected it to be, but only by a small margin. This shirt is made to fit a wide variety of body types and I can’t say that I was at all displeased with it. It was also much more comfortable than I expected it to be, and the soil-release fabric breathes really well. The shirt fastens via six buttons up the front and a snap at the collar.

I did not want to write this review until I’d at least had a chance to wear the shirt and wash it. One thing that often worries me when buying articles of clothing is the level of shrinkage that may or may not occur after washing. Following a full day of wearing it, I ran it through a thorough wash and dry cycle. No sooner out of the dryer, I slipped the shirt back on to see what kind of damage I could have managed to inflict upon it with my ineptitude in using laundry machines.

I’m very happy to report that the shirt made it through unscathed, save for some minimal shrinking. In the shirt’s defense, I actually ran it through cycles on the machines’ hottest settings to try and shrink it on purpose. If you follow the washing instructions on the label, you should see no noticeable change in fit, but if you are like me and found the shirt a little baggy, a hot wash and dry should do the trick. Again, the shrinkage was minimal, but just enough to make the XL-sized shirt that much more comfortable to wear on my 5’10”, 210lbs frame.

Overall, I was exceptionally pleased with every aspect of the clothing buying experience. The folks at SuperHeroStuff shipped my order without delay and the quality of the product is worth the price tag. I’m looking forward to enjoying this Stark Industries work shirt for many years to come.

Thanks SuperHeroStuff.com!
