Gotta Have It!: The Complete Art of Fullmetal Alchemist

Gotta Have It!: The Complete Art of Fullmetal Alchemist

VIZ Media has been re-releasing the Fullmetal Alchemist series in new volumes and along with that is an art book for the whole series. This volume even looks like a massive version of the smaller manga collections with their white covers and bold text. You could put this next to the manga collection’s latest Fullmetal editions to look like a mama duck followed by her ducklings in book form on your shelves. If you are a fan of the series then this book gives you a full color view of some stuff that never got animated but was definitely in the manga. It’s got gorgeous and large pieces to marvel at, perfect for a coffee table for guests perusing or just for your own collection.

If you have any other art books from any other series you enjoy, this can easily join the best of them. Text is at a minimum in the book, it’s only used to credit the source for where you could see the original art piece’s first appearance. Another nice touch for the book is on the back is an imprinting of the Flamel, most often seen on Edward Elric’s red coat. Being a big fan of the series, this is an art book I’m happy to share with any friend who comes over, it’s pretty hefty so it’s not really a travelling book unless you want to get those academic vibes, but then you’ll want to get a dust jacket for such protection. This book is reasonably priced if you’re a big fan or new to the series and love Hiromu Arakawa’s art. Get it for the Fullmetal fan in your life. The cover alone is a delight in the plethora of characters the series has to offer.
