Gotta Have It! Statue Edition: Batman Family: The Commish & Batwoman

On Wednesday DC Direct released part 3 of the Batman Family multi-piece statue set! This piece features Commissioner Gordon and Batwoman looking intensely serious. It’s 9″ high x 7″ wide x 5″ deep, but the entire multi-statue set when assembled together measures 11″ high x 17″ wide x 11.5″ deep. The set is hand painted and cold-cast in porcelain.

Package Description: “It’s the ultimate collectible for Batman fans! Batman and his allies team up in four separate pieces (sold in three parts) to form a single statue. Solicited this month is Part 3 of this multi-part statue, featuring Batwoman and Commissioner Gordon standing on a rooftop in Gotham City, ready to take action.”

Other pieces in the Batman Family set include Robin (Tim Drake) and Catwoman perched on a gargoyle and Huntress and Nightwing surveying Gotham City. Each of the three parts include a piece of the seventh character in the scene that when assembled together form Batman who towers over everyone:

The whole family!

For the most part this collection comes off pretty cool when all the pieces are displayed together. The paint job on Batwoman in the pictures above look odd in certain parts (are those veins on her arms and legs?) and Nightwing appears somewhat stoic. Catwoman’s face looks a little weird, but other than that I think the set looks vibrant. The Robin piece stands out to me and the Commissioner Gordan sculpt looks smooth and tough. This set is a must have for any Bat-fanatic!

I think the Gordon is spot on, and Robin is OK. Everyone else looks a little off to me. But it’s still a pretty cool piece overall.

I debated on getting this entire set but like you I think the Robin piece stands out the most and the Commmish piece is pretty decent as well. I didn’t like the others enough to cough up the money but if I was to ever find the complete set later on at a decent enough price i’d grab it then. And Nightwing just looks horrible to me and Huntress could have had a better pose

Yeah, there’s some awkwardness in the sculpts for sure. Glad to hear we all agree on the Robin and Commish pieces looking good though!

All of these look cool to me except that Nightwing statue. I can’t put my finger on it but there’s just something that doesn’t look right.

Something is definitely up with his facial features…. It does look weird somehow.

Huntress is too tall as well. 🙂
