Gotta Have It! Statue Edition: DC Direct’s Catwoman

Frisky feline fatale Catwoman is the latest character to join the exciting new COVER GIRLS OF THE DC UNIVERSE statue line!

With a pose straight from Adam Hughes’ cover of CATWOMAN #46, this statue features the coquettish cat-burglar standing atop a logo adorned base.

Hand-painted, cold-cast in porcelain and measuring approximately 9.5″ tall x 4″ wide x 4″ deep, this statue includes a 4-color Certificate of Authenticity and is packaged in a 4-color box.

Catwoman is the sixth addition in a gorgeous collection of DC Cover Girls – and by far the sexiest. Her design is based off of Adam Hughes’s cover of Catwoman #46 and doesn’t disappoint. Ladies and gents, behold her grandeur:

Ten inches of pure seduction. Ow ow.

The pictures hardly do the statue justice. In person, Catwoman stands a tantalizing 9.5 inches tall. Mathews’s flawless  sculpt accurately depicts Hughes’s signature face and, er, bosom. Her catsuit is delicately sculpted to elicit the same sleekness her mystique presents. The catsuit is very shiny and really leaves no doubt it’s supposed to be constructed out of PVC. Definitely gives Michelle Pfieffer’s a run for her money.

Damn! Look at that a@$!

The paint job on this statue is superb. No bleeding is apparent throughout the statue. Her face is especially impressive, evoking the sly, foxy expression Ms. Kyle is often shown with. The details are very fine and and precise – no paint mistakes are found on this statue. I have to admit, I’m always on the lookout for any kind of painting mistake, because it happens too often and can really bring down the value and glory of a figure or statue. I am beyond pleased to report that I have found none on her.

Box says: OPEN ME

Catwoman comes with a certificate of authenticity and a neat and sturdy black stand already connected with the words “Catwoman” written on the bottom in bright red. No assembly required. The box she comes in (pictured above) does not falsely advertise. She’s just as impressive out of the box (more so, even) than pictured on it.

I've got you on my radar....

The statue has a limited run of 5000 pieces, and mine is number 4710. It has pretty decent availability. I was able to find one off of Amazon, Ebay, and many other online retailers. If you’re lucky and your local comic shop hasn’t sold out of it, you can probably find one there as well. The price is a little steep – it’ll cost you about $100 bucks, but it’s more than worth it.

Catwoman’s signature sly, seductive nature is depicted here in the best way I’ve seen in a statue representation of her. Hughes’s already dynamic illustration could not be captured better in Mathews’s sculpt. This addition to the other Cover Girls statues measures up quite nicely and, in my opinion, comes out on top.

I'm feeling frisky.
