Dallas Comic Con 2013 pt 2: Kevin Conroy Q&A and Cosplay!

Greeting comic fans! Thanks for coming back for more on my trip to this year’s Dallas Comic Con. If you’d like to just read about the convention itself, please see my write up from yesterday. I’m going to kick this post off with the audio from the Kevin Conroy Friday Q&A, some photographs from the Jason David Frank Q&A, and then get started on showing you some of the amazing cosplayers across all three days.

You can find the audio for the panel here (right click save as if you want to download). Conroy talks about his career, his experience playing Batman across a variety of shows and video games, and in general is very entertaining, kind, and interesting to listen to. The file runs about 50 minutes. It starts a little abruptly as they just came in and started talking without a formal introduction.

Jason David Frank had a Q&A soon after, and though I didn’t sit through the entire thing, I did snap a couple nice pictures (it was also his wedding anniversary, so bless his wife for putting up with such an event on such a day).

And now, onto some cosplay! I did want to note that this year the con set aside a section in the first floor lobby where they place a small red carpet and hung up a background for taking photos. While this was certainly well intentioned and appreciated, the backdrop was fairly shear and didn’t go all the way down to the floor. That entire area of the center is wall to wall, top to bottom windows, and the sunlight pouring through them made getting solid photographs difficult unless you had just the right angle. Anyway, you’re here for the costumes, so let’s get started.
