Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 09/20/17

Accell #4 (Lion Forge)
Infinite Speech: New characters get introduced and this issue begins to stand out from the rest!

Adventure Time Comics #15 (Boom!)
NickZ: These odd, little anthology stories show just how much fun you can have in the Adventure Time sandbox.

Batman #31 (DC)
NickZ: Kite Man strangely is the breakout star of this war.

Batman the Red Death #1 (DC)
Infinite Speech: Not really a tie-in guy but this one was definitely worth it and this Batman/Flash combo was one I didn’t see coming!
NickZ: Batman can be straight up scary when he is pushed to his breaking point.

Batwoman #7 (DC)
NickZ: There were so many different time frames in play here, I’m not sure how much of this story was just in Kate’s mind.

Black Eyed Kids #14 (AfterShock)
Infinite Speech: This was a bit slower paced but still creepy as hell.

Bloodshot Salvation #1 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: It’s not fair to other comics to have Lewis Larosa and Mico Suayan on the same book!

Captain Phasma #2 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: I’m going to need another Phasma mini series when this one wraps up.

Descender #24 (Image)
NickZ: Driller is a real killer and also the heart of this book!

Doctor Strange #25 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Strange shouldn’t go down memory lane anymore. It’s just safer for NY.
NickZ: A one-off story that demonstrates how much the absence of magic has really forced Strange to be a better version of himself.

Glitterbomb the Fame Game #1 (Image)
NickZ: Glitterbomb is back and it did not disappoint!

Horizon #14 (Image)
Infinite Speech: The ladies are back. Lincoln is pissed. You should be reading this!

InseXts #13 (AfterShock)
Infinite Speech: The male gaze gets poked in the eye as the series wraps but maybe we’ll get more from Bennett & Kristantina later.

Invincible #140 (Image)
NickZ: In a series known for its epic, jaw-dropping fights, this one was on some next level s***! Definitely worthy of Thragg!

Jean Grey #7 (Marvel)
NickZ: I love everything about ghost Jean! Her unfiltered reactions to the Scarlet Witch were priceless!

Justice League #29 (DC)
NickZ: Lois finding out about Batman’s contingency plans against her husband was great! I can’t wait to see that conversation between her and Bruce.

Luke Cage #5 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Now the next arc needs to crank things up but will Cage ever have a happy ending?

Nightwing #29 (DC)
NickZ: Just an excuse to put everyone is some crazy costumes with unusual weapons but it was was fun to see.

Peter Parker: the Spectacular Spider-Man #4 (Marvel)
NickZ: Seeing Spider-Man doing stand-up comedy is worth the price of admission.

Secret Weapons #4 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: These weird powers finally come together and that “Omen” name is dropped again. Pretty sure it doesn’t bode well for the good guys and I’m here for it!

Snotgirl #7 (Image)
NickZ: I loved that a group of beauty bloggers were going to go to Comic Con.

Spider-Men II #3 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: The origin of Miles Morales but it’s not the Miles we know and love who can do whatever a spider can.

Superb #3 (Lion Forge)
Infinite Speech: When the comic lives up to it’s name there’s no reason you shouldn’t be reading it!

Superman #31 (DC)
NickZ: Lois takes the spotlight as she goes face to face with Deathstroke no less!

Super Sons #8 (DC)
NickZ: The boys meet their match when they team-up with some kickass girls!

Trinity #13 (DC)
NickZ: With all the trinities being corrupted, things keep going from bad to worse for our heroes.

Venom #154 (Marvel)
NickZ: This was a great issue showing Venom’s history from the sybiote’s perspective. I loved the interaction it had with the priest.

Venomverse #3 (Marvel)
NickZ: Who could have guessed that we’d be rooting for Carnage!

Wayward #23 (Image)
Infinite Speech: This issue was great but the back matter is another excellent expansion!
NickZ: It’s like Godzilla if he was a giant school girl with uncontrollable powers.

X-Men Gold #12 (Marvel)
NickZ: TBH, I could’ve done without this alien’s backstory, lets just get to Mojo already!
