Bruce remembering that he is Batman was always inevitable. Whether or not that cliffhanger marks that inevitable moment however, is still unknown. Relatively speaking, despite how tedious and clumsy Gordon’s tenure as Batman has been, it has been a remarkably short amount of time him to have taken up the mantle only to be giving it up so soon. Furthermore, if Gordon’s run as Batman is nearing an end, it makes his entire arc even more unbearable. Origin stories only work because they usually tell the tale of a newbie growing into a seasoned hero, which Gordon-Batman has yet to do.

The logistics of it all is going to be interesting to read, specifically how it is Bruce managed to either regain his memories or hide the fact that they were never gone to begin with, despite the fact that Alfred along with anyone else on the Justice League probably tested Bruce’s mind. After all of that, somehow he still managed to keep all of it a secret, which is pretty much the most “Batman” thing he could possibly do.  4/5
