Contest of Champions (CoC) Episode #16: Dr. Doom vs. Thor

Welcome to Contest of Champions (CoC) Podcast, Episode #16! CoC is an interactive player vs. player game where your favorite Marvel characters go head to head to answer the eternal question of “who can beat whom in a fight?”
Join Jeff Jackson and Ian Johnson every week as they welcome two team managers who have a stable of five characters each ready to blast, zap, snikt, thwip, and smash their way to be the last one standing! It’s a little bit fan fiction, a little bit debate, a little bit role playing, and a whole bunch of fun! It’s an interactive adventure for the managers, and for the ComicAttack.net community.
This week, Ian is missing in action, but we’re joined by our competitors Eli Anthony and Dan Briand, and  guest host, Tom McNeely!

Episode #16

First, on this episode we shared our weekly Fights of the Week!
Tom is liking the new vulnerability of Superboy in Scott Lobdell’s Superboy #3.
Dan enjoyed Spidey using his newfound spider-sense in Dan Slott’s Amazing Spider-Man #674.
Eli picked a true classic in Alan Moore’s Batman: The Killing Joke, which includes one of the greatest fight pages in any comic ever.
Jeff got a kick out of Jason Aaron’s Wolverine #19, where some dragons vomit on a guy who can punch your soul. Yes, that happened.
And finally, here’s the big fight! This week we have one for the ages!
You can click on the images to find out the characters’ power sets and history.

Yes! Electro-paralyzer to the face for the win!!!!! Thor has nothing for Doom here. He is without Mjolnir, and he doesn’t have the cunning to counter Doom’s deadly array of powers, abilities, and weapons.

Where is Mjolnir you ask? Few people know of this, but Mjolnir has a part time job as the main dent mallet at Stan’s Automotive Bump & Dent repair in Tulsa. Thor’s going down hard.

    Vote for Doom!

  2. SpidermanGeek

Is that where Doom gets his armor dents removed? He’s gonna need Stan’s on speedily after this fight.

  3. Jeff Jackson

Ooo…it’s tied up! I want to hear more. I’m definitely leaning one side but could be swayed.

When last we see Thor he’s got some nifty yet powerful enchanted armour and Odin’s sword. However what sucks here is that time is against him and this enviroment allows Doom to come up with several spells to help him defeat Thor. There’s a lot of ground to cover before these guys get to each other and I don’t see Thor coming out on top here.
