Action Comics #960 (DC)
Martin: 3/5 stars. Wonder Woman is a nice distraction to more continued Supes/Doomsday punching but art is inconsistent.
Infinite Speech: Klytus…I’m bored.
Batman: Detective Comics #937 (DC)
Arnab: This series gets better and better with every issue.
Martin: 4/5 stars. Batman finally takes a more central role in this story, and the primary villain is revealed.
Batgirl #1 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Interesting look at Babs visiting Japan & fighting crime there, but seems to rely heavily on New 52 continuity.
Black Panther #4 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Haven’t liked Black Panther this much in a long time!
Civil War II #4 (Marvel)
Arnab: I don’t get it. Captain Marvel has clearly lost it, but all those “heroes” are still fighting on her side? Why? Are they afraid she’s going to arrest them next?
Infinite Speech: I’m old enough to remember when heroes fought villains all the time and not each other.
Divinity II #4 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: As soon as this issue ended I wanted part three to start immediately! Such epic storytelling both visually & in the narrative!
East of West #28 (Image)
Arnab: Babylon is the most adorable and precious kid ever, especially considering his upbringing and his ongoing brainwashing.
Martin: 4/5 stars. A crazy cyborg bounty hunter who talks to himself hunting Death of the 4 Horsemen? Why WOULDN’T you read this?
Flash #3 (DC)
Arnab: This isn’t a bad story, however, I miss the days when every Flash villain didn’t have to have super speed powers.
Martin: 4/5 stars. Has a wonderful scene between Flash & a girl struggling to cope w/ new powers, proving Flash is more than just running.
Infinite Speech: Is every Flash villain just a super fast evil version of…Flash?
Hal Jordan & the Green Lantern Corps #1 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. The GL mythos is difficult to navigate but this title takes so much history & boils it down.
Jem & the Holograms #17 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: New series artist, Jen Bartel, makes this another great looking issue.
Jupiter’s Legacy 2 #2 (Image)
Infinite Speech: This issue blows the last one out the water and THAT was a damn near perfect comic!
Mae #3 (Dark Horse)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. We get to see Abbie’s “other world” w/ Mae dragged along. Talking cats, giant turtles, Czechs & African-Americans!
Infinite Speech: I want to see this on the big screen!
Mockingbird #5 (Marvel)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. Man oh man do I love this series. The art, dialogue, inside-jokes, & story structure are so much fun!
Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur #9 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Reeder & Montclair really convinced me to start having fun w/ this series in another great issue.
Nightwing #1 (DC)
Arnab: This is the best kind of Nightwing book: Family time, a dash of romance, new villains, and a road trip.
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Lots happens: farewells to Bat Family; trip to Russia for the Parliament of Owls; new partner. Faces inconsistent
Postal #13 (Top Cow)
Infinite Speech : I don’t like Rowan but I respect his path to redemption. You need to check out this issue and any other comic Bryan Edward Hill is attached to!
ROM #1 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: So good to have the original Space Knight back and kicking Dire Wraith butt!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #60 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: It’s never a dull moment when Splinter has to fight. Even when it’s against his own sons!
Titans #1 (DC)
Arnab: Brett Booth draws with so much energy, it’s as if these guys were running around right in front of you.
Martin: 3/5 stars. A bit repetitive of DC Universe Rebirth & Titans Rebirth. But, more original Wally West is always a good thing.
Wonder Woman #3 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. I’m not sure how I feel about the “every other issue” dual story-arcs, but the art looks great.
X-O Manowar #48 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: I really don’t see this ending well for any of the parties involved.
