Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 05/20/15

A-Force #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Okay, I’m on board for this ride and the end better be good!

Archie vs Predator #2 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: Starts off great then gets a little over-the-top silly. Which is saying a lot considering the title of this book.

  bloodshot 2Bloodshot Reborn #2 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: This just keeps getting better and better! “Blasting evil in the face with justice!” is the best line of the week!

Convergence #7 (DC)
Arnab: How this could possibly end in one issue is beyond me. End well that is.
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. This series has progressively gotten better, but it wasn’t starting from a strong base. Some nice splash pages.

Convergence: Adventure of Superman #2 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Cool old-school team-up w/ pre-Crisis Supes & Supergirl with Kamandi. Wish it were longer.

Convergence: Batman & the Outsiders #2 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Basically just a slug-fest with OMAC. But at least the battle is well written & drawn.

Convergence: Flash #2 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Flash & Tangent Superman are 2 of the only heroes in this mess to actually question why they’re fighting.

Convergence: Green Lantern Corps #2 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Fun seeing this version of Guy; much better than #1. Odd seeing everyone in domino masks!

Convergence: Hawkman #2 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Excellent art and a fun story full of nods to the Hawks’ history in DC Comics. Plus mutant bats & rats!

Convergence: Justice League of America #2 (DC)convergence jla 2
Martin: 4/5 stars. It’s fun reading the “B-Team” of the JLA w/ some inside jokes about Vibe & the others.

Convergence: New Teen Titans #2 (DC)
Arnab: There was just so much drama.
Martin:
4/5 stars. Love Nicola Scott’s art but would have liked this to just focus on the Titans by themselves.

Convergence: Superboy & the Legion of Superheroes #2 (DC)
Martin: 2/5 stars. So, the Atomic Knights kick butt ‘cuz the Legion is “out of practice”? Lame.

Convergence: Swamp Thing #2 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Is it weird that this reminded me, in a good way, of a pseudo Silver Age “Brave & the Bold” comic?

Convergence: Wonder Woman #2 (DC)
Martin: 2/5 stars. Just Wonder Woman fighting vampires, with no building on the Cult from issue #1. Big disappointment.

The Fade Out #6 (Image)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. One of the best looking comics on the stands right now, w/ a style that matches the pulpy noir crime story.

Jem & the Holograms #3 (IDW)jem 3
Infinite Speech: Now THAT’S the Pizzazz we know and love! The creative team has brought Jem into the present in great fashion!

Ninjak #3 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: Best freefall fight scene I’ve seen in quite some time! Buy this title and have your mind blown by the great story and art!

Planet Hulk #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Captain America’s sidekick is Devil Dinosaur and there’s literally a planet full of Hulks. Okay, I’m in.

Shaft #6 (Dynamite)
Infinite Speech: Walker and Evely are phenomenal with this series. They’ve done in 6 issue what some comics can’t do in 30.

Spawn #252 (Image)
Infinite Speech: A great improvement over last issue but Al Simmons is still an @$$hole. That will never change.

Spider-Verse #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Umm…well…hmmm…the Spider-Ham back-up story was slightly entertaining.

Ultimate End #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Now THIS issue makes sense and it looks like this goes all the way back to when Peter and Miles met up!
