Adventure Time 2014 Winter Special #1 (Boom)
NickZ: Some great Adventure Time tales to keep you nice and cozy this winter.

Adventures of Superman #9 (DC)
NickZ: A touching tale of triumph and tragedy focusing on Bizarro.

Artifacts #34 (Top Cow)
Infinite Speech: Ian Nottingham + Muramasa Blade =One of the highest & bloodiest body count this week in comics.

Batman The Dark Knight #27 (DC)
NickZ: The conclusion of the silent storyline. This time the visuals did much better at telling a compelling story.

bra 2Batman & Robin Annual #2 (DC)
Martin: Nice to see Robin actually back in this title. It’s also nice to see a lighter tone in the New 52.
NickZ: The death of Damian still weighs heavy on Bruce and Dick as they reflect back on their own Dynamic Duo beginnings.

Black Science #3 (Image)
Infinite Speech: I don’t know who to root for anymore because it seems like everyone is a jerk. Still a great book that looks awesome!
Martin: This book’s nearly perfect in every way. More character back stories revealed this issue, plus stunning visuals.
NickZ: This book is totally awesome! If you’re into Science-fiction stories with great character dynamics, I highly recommended picking up this series.

Cataclysm: The Ultimates’ Last Stand #4 (Marvel)
Jeff: Kinda wished I had read the first 3 issues before picking this up.

Catwoman #27 (DC)
NickZ: Selina struggles trying to overcome her Gothtopia brainwashing. It seems her desire for that life is harder for her to resist than for some of the others.

Crossed Badlands #46 (Avatar Press)
@decapitateddan: The crossed take to the high seas! Fun action packed issue, the build was leading to this one! Great read as always! 4.5/5

Cyberforce #8 (Top Cow)
Infinite Speech: Really want to see Killjoy in action but things are moving a bit too slow now.

Damian: Son of Batman #4 (DC)
Arnab: Two words: not good.
Martin: What a mess. Major unresolved plot threads (cat? priest? nurse?). 1 long fight = kinda boring to read.
NickZ: This series comes to a somewhat unsatisfying conclusion. Definitely a way darker future than I believe Bruce would prefer.

Earth 2 Annual #2 (DC)
Martin: An interesting twist on the origins of Earth 2’s new Batman (since I didn’t see the action figure spoiler).

eow 9East of West #9 (Image)
Arnab: This story just continues to get better and better.
Martin: Strong world-building, interesting character interactions, & art that perfectly matches the story. Awesome!

Escape From the Dead #1 (GH Comics)
@decapitateddan: Good first issue, but short. It got the point across and got me excited for what’s to come. I’ll be looking forward to what’s next. 3.5/5

Executive Assistant: Iris #3 (Aspen)
Infinite Speech: Iris pulls a sai out of her back, kills helicopter guy with said weapon, & hijacks a helicopter while it’s in the air. Can your fav assassin do that?

Flash #27 (DC)
Arnab: Brian Buccellato writes a great Flash.
Martin: My fave New 52 book gets a few more Buccellato issues to hopefully finish a long-time arc. Good Zircher art, too.

Five Weapons #6 (Image)
Infinite Speech: So glad this book is back and still as good as ever!

Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S. #4 (DC)
Martin: I’ve enjoyed this up until now. Some good Killer Frost moments & world background, but some some-par art.

Ghostbusters #12 (IDW)
@decapitateddan: Even though I didn’t read the other issues in this arc, I still highly enjoyed this issue. What a great series this is, always a fantastic story and art! 4/5
Infinite Speech: Until we get a third film this is just as awesome so get onboard folks!

God is Dead #5 (Avatar Press)
@decapitateddan: And only one remained! I really like this book so far, and with this ending, I can’t wait to see what’s coming next! 4.5/5

Guardians of the Galaxy #11.NOW (Marvel)
Arnab: Gladiator is a dick, and not the good kind ;).
Infinite Speech: Nice setup to the Trial of Jean Grey but it does seem suspicious that Gladiator is all gung ho about destroying the young Jean.
Jeff: The trial part seems a bit contrived, but Sara Pichelli draws a helluva good comic book!
NickZ: My first time reading GoG. Not a bad read at all, wish it tied in more with The Trial of Jean Grey. Also, did anyone else think Gladiator was being insanely unreasonable?

Inhumanity #2 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Not sure where this title is going but Medusa is scary now.

Invincible #108 (Image)
Dr. Bustos: Well things certainly have changed for the bad.
NickZ: I think Invincible summed up this issue pretty accurately on the last page with “Holy F**K.” This book is so twisted and good, it should be illegal.

The Jester’s Curse #1 (Spaceboy Comics)
@decapitateddan: F!*#ING GORE-Geous!!!!! Armstrong and Bramble brought the house down!! Such a great read, so brilliant to look at. I love In Flames, and Now in comic form! 5/5

lz 5The Last Zombie: The End #5 (Antarctic Press)
@decapitateddan: BRAVO to everyone involved with this series! Solid reading and viewing form start to finish! This has to be one of my all time favorite comic series! 5/5

Macabre #1 (Antarctic Press)
@decapitateddan: Richard Moore crafted some hilariously frightening tales here. This is a fantastic read! And the visual are really to die for! 4.5/5

Night of the Living Deadpool #2 (Marvel)
@decapitateddan: Great issue! Love where this one went, and I am just loving this mini series!!! I can’t wait for issue #3. 4.5/5

The Other Dead #5 (IDW)
@decapitateddan: I just saw a zombie bear decapitate someone, so GORE-Geous! Great action, great issue. Looking forward to seeing how it all ends! 4/5
Infinite Speech: Zombie bears > zombie people.

Saga #18 (Image)
Arnab: Hot damn diggity that was flippin’ awesome.
Dr. Bustos: Poor Lying Cat. I am excited to see where everyone is next issue.
Infinite Speech: Just take my money, please!!
Jeff: A perfect conclusion to this arc. The wait until next issue might kill me.
NickZ: A lot of the plot lines came to a head just in time of a time jump and another hiatus. On the bright side, it’s a perfect time for new people to catch up on this spectacular book before it returns in a couple of months.

Serenity: Leaves on the Wind #1 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: If you’re missing the show THIS is the book you need to be reading and you’ll never notice the difference!

Smallville Season Eleven Special #4 (DC)
NickZ: Smallville introduces it’s version of the Teen Titans with Superboy, the Wonder Twins, Miss Martian, Blue Beatle, and Speedy all being trained by the Golden age Flash. Pretty awesome.

Superior Spider-Man #26 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: That war was feeling pretty short until it wasn’t.
Infinite Speech: ARGH!! Another agonizingly great cliffhanger!!
Jeff: What’s up with all the artists? I want to be excited about the Goblin Nation story, but unless Ramos is drawing it, why bother?
NickZ: The Goblin War is in full effect as the Green Goblin and the Hobgoblin go head to head in a “winner takes all” battle for the underworld. Plus, the Avengers and Peter Parker keep Spider-Man occupied.

Talon #15 (DC)
NickZ: Out of the ashes a new Talon rises. I don’t think the Court of Owls can ever truly be stopped.

tmnt 30Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #30 (IDW)
Arnab: Absolutely brilliant. This title is better than anything else Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I’ve encountered.
Infinite Speech: The Turtles have never looked or read better than they do now thanks to the creative teams on this title!

Teen Titans #27 (DC)
Arnab: Nonsense.
NickZ: So, Kid Flash is now some kind of killing crazed, war criminal? This series needs to go.

Thor: God of Thunder #18 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: What a sad story involving a partying dragon.
Jeff: Decided to jump back onto this book and was pleasantly surprised with this one-shot.

Trish out of Water #4 (Aspen)
Infinite Speech: Hooked on the story just wish the art was as strong as it was the first couple of issues.

Uncanny Avengers #16 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: A pissed off Thor > Everyone else! Glad I took a chance on this title and stuck with it!
Jeff: This story just feels like it’s trying too hard.
NickZ: Any one else find it interesting that most of the mutants on this team are dead and it’s up to the “Avengers” to save the day from another evil mutant threat?

Uncanny X-Force #17 (Marvel)
Arnab: No one I wanted to die, died, and that makes me sad.
Infinite Speech: My punishment for reading this should be letting Donnie Yen punch me in the face. Repeatedly.
Jeff: Well, that’s the end of that. Thank God.
NickZ: How could Hope not control Styfe’s power but she was able to control the entire Phoenix force? Lame.

Wild Work #1 (Antarctic Press)
@decapitateddan: What a FANG-Tastic start! The art is beautiful and the story has me hooked! I need more…RIGHT NOW!!! 4.5/5

Witchblade #127 (Top Cow)
Infinite Speech: This is going to get ugly thanks to Marz and Braga!

Worlds’ Finest Annual #1 (DC)
Martin: A lot of fun Earth 2 stories and background in this one featuring Kara Supergirl & Helena Robin.

X-Men Legacy #23 (Marvel)
NickZ: I am so curious if this issue will lead to the birth of the evil grandson of Charles Xavier’s that we saw in Battle of the Atom.

Zombie Commandos From Hell: UltraGore pt. 1(Raisinlove)
@decapitateddan: Such a nostalgic feel! It was like being a kid in the early 90s again. A great read, with some fantastic visuals! I can not wait to read more! 4.5/5

Zombillenium #1 (NBM)
@decapitateddan: Awesome monster art and horror/comedy writing. This is proof why we need more books translated to English. Loved it! 5/5
