Annihilators #2 (Marvel)
Andy: Shouldn’t a book starring the heaviest hitters of the Marvel Cosmos feature them breaking stuff? Instead, they’re all bickering like a bunch of ninnies. Weak sauce. Especially for $5.

Avengers: The Children’s Crusade #5 (Marvel)
Andy: She’s baaaaaack! This issue makes much more sense after reading the Young Avengers one-shot from a few weeks ago. Wanted more out of Magneto vs. Doom, though.
Jeff: This issue lost something for me that I can’t put my finger on. Perhaps convoluting the story with Iron Lad and the time travel stuff, but way to bring back Scott Lang!
NickZ: This series just gets better and better. The Witch is BACK!!
Arnab: The Scarlet Witch is back. Oh hell yes!

Axe Cop: Bad Guy Earth #2 (Dark Horse)
Andy: It’s tough to pull of comedy in comics, but this series nails it on every level. The stupid humor has me cracking up, knowing it’s coming from the mind of a 6 year old. (seriously)

Batman Beyond #4 (DC)
Andy: The Batman, Inc. references were cool, but beyond that, I’m underwhelmed. I dunno, I was never a fan of the TV series and I think you have to be to dig this comic.

Blue Estate #1 (Image)
Andy: Image is on a roll with their crime fiction books. This one was great- sexy with a touch of quirkiness. Plus, it literally takes place down the street from me in Hollywood.

The Boys #53 (Dynamite)
Andy: Just when I thought this series had run out of steam, Mallory’s origin story picks things back up. Can’t wait to see how it all goes down!

B.P.R.D. The Dead Remembered #1 (Dark Horse)
Andy: The witch hunt is on! This is only my second BPRD series, and I’m already liking it more than the last one. I’m also a sucker for period pieces, but hey, it’s cool.

Brightest Day #23 (DC)
Andy: I’m not sure if this issue was cool as hell, or just ridonkulous. Glad to see things make sense (sort of), but if these extreme character changes are just another flash-in-the pan experience (see Blackest Night), I’m out.
NickZ: The Elements idea was pretty cool, but Swamp Thing? Earth’s Ultimate Savior? Really?
Arnab: Where in the blazes did Captain Boomerang come from? It was interesting, but I can’t see how it can end with one more issue.

Captain America: Hail Hydra #4 (Marvel)
Andy: I wanted to like it but couldn’t finish it. Which is odd because I usually dig Maberry’s work; I’m not a big enough Cap fan to get into it.

Chew #18 (Image)
Andy: This issue was bloody fantastic! Gotta go get me some #CheeseIfs.
Arnab: Poyo! The most awesome, ass kicking, heart stopping, chicken you will ever see.

Daomu #3 (Image)
Andy: The art is pretty, but it wasn’t enough to hold my attention. If tomb robbing, Chinese-legends stuff is your thing, you’ll probably like it.

DC Universe Online Legends #5 (DC)
Andy: After 5 issues it’s safe to say this series is better than JLA or JSA right now, and for what it is, so far so good. Also, LOL Aquaman!

Deadpool Family #1 (Marvel)
NickZ: The stories were ok and there was some good art, that’s about it.

Fear Itself #1 (Marvel)
Andy: That was really, really well done. Love Immonen’s art in an event book, it was a long time coming. Odin though…what a dick!
Infinite Speech: Odin laid the smacketh down on Thor (again) and Immonen made it look fantastic!
Jeff: That was really, really not well done. I was completely lost the entire issue. When did Odin become such a dick?
NickZ: Seems to be off to a good start. Thor got a good smack down from his daddy.
Aron: Hmmm… Siege 2: The Extreme Home Makeover Edition. ‘Nuff said.

Fear Itself: The Home Front #1 (Marvel)
Andy: Went in not expecting much from an issue collecting 4 short stories, but came out pleasantly surprised. Great art in the first two chapters, the plots seemed relevant, too.
Infinite Speech: Frontline’s replacement does an excellent job with the overflow from Fear Itself!

Green Wake #1 (Image)
Andy: Riley Rossmo’s work in Proof is great, but here he brings his style to a whole other level. A little lost on the story though.
Aron: I don’t get it.

Herc #1 (Marvel)
Andy: I liked it, but I still miss drunken Hercules. A nice evolution of the character here, and it’s only a matter of time before the Black Panther/Spider-Man team-up.

Heroes For Hire #5 (Marvel)
Andy: I think Abnett and Lanning may be stretched a little thin. This opening arc was disappointing.
Infinite Speech: Nice little wrap up to the arc but the supposed love interest was a bit cheesy.

House of Mystery #36 (Vertigo)
Aron: Jump on NOW! This issue touched me and brought me to tears. Tune into TALES FROM THE WATER COOLER #11, to find out why!

Infestation #2 (IDW)
Andy: Didn’t read any of the tie-ins, and honestly, I thought this was a great stand-alone issue. The Undermind by artist David Messina is SICK!!!

Jonah Hex #66 (DC)
Aron: Good story. Bad art. And I like Fiona Staples. What’s up with that?

JSA All-Stars #17 (DC)
Aron: Judomaster and Power Girl have this fanboy’s heart. And how GOOD is it to be The Prince at the end?! EEEEESH!

Madman All-New Giant-Size Super Ginchy Special #1 (Image)
Jeff: First 3 stories were disappointing, but one great short story that has Dr. Flem and Joe trying to save Frank’s life from a microscopic bullet. Ginchy indeed!

Memoir #3 (Image)
Andy: I feel bad for the main character; I know what it’s like being stuck in small-town-nowhere with no way out, nothing to do, and weirdos everywhere…creepy.

NonPlayer #1 (Image)
Andy: Remember Avatar? NonPlayer #1 is similar, only 10x more beautiful, 30x more layered, and 100x better. Stunning in every way. Read it.
Arnab: Beautiful. The art sells this book.

Skaar: King of the Savage Land #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Shana gets possessed and goes ape $#!& and Skaar punches a dinosaur! That’s a great start to this mini series!

Superman/Batman Annual #5 (DC)
Andy: Cool art, but now Doomsday is Super Cyborg Doomsday? Come on.
NickZ: Doomsday is now a cyborg and Supergirl has survivor’s guilt. Interesting.

Sweet Tooth #20 (Vertigo)
Andy: Great twist in this issue. If weird, character-driven, post-apocalyptic books are your thing, you should be reading Sweet Tooth.

Ultimate Comics Captain America #4 (Marvel)
Andy: Jason Aaron needs to write Ultimate Cap more often. I hope to see more of the Vietnam era Cap too. That guy is crazy!

Uncanny X-Men #534.1 (Marvel)
Andy: Great start to Gillen’s run. Solid writing of Magneto, coupled with some hilarious Namor one-liners.
Jeff: Thank you, Kieron Gillen & Carlos Pacheco, for bringing Uncanny back to a readable and awesome status.
NickZ: A much better issue than the last ones. Mags is always interesting.
Arnab: Well hot damn. Magneto’s about as powerful as I can remember him being.

Who Is Jake Ellis #3 (Image)
Andy: Who is Jake Ellis? A cool, resourceful badass! All crime noir fans should be reading this book. It’s awesome.

Witchfinder: Lost and Gone Forever #2 (Dark Horse)
Andy: This old west supernatural series was my first introduction to Sir Edward Grey, and I’m genuinely impressed. From the art to the script, if spooky religion is your thing, pick up this book!

Wolverine The Best There Is #5 (Marvel)
NickZ: The big headed kid was right, Wolverine is stupid and so is this book.

Wolverine Hercules Myths, Monsters & Mutants #2 (Marvel)
NickZ: Still a rip roaring good ol’ adventure!
