Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 12/06/17

Adventure Time #71 (Boom!)
NickZ: Finn and Jake learn the classic lesson of “be careful what you wish for”.

Amazing Spider-Man: Venom Inc Alpha #1 (Marvel)
NickZ: The Venom symbiote being torn between Eddie and Flash is the Sophie’s Choice of comic books.

Astonishing X-Men #6 (Marvel)
NickZ: I knew Chuck was up to something! I am so intrigued by this “X” fellow.

The Avengers #674 (Marvel)
NickZ: This was a pretty good crossover, but I don’t know if following it directly with another big multi-team crossover story is such a good idea. Give these damn people a chance to breathe and develop between events!

Batman #36 (DC)
NickZ: I can’t even list all of the things that I loved about this issue! Tom king just gets Batman’s interpersonal relationships better than any one has in a very long time and Clay Mann’s art is the perfect fit to tell this story!

Batman Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #1 (DC)
Infinite Speech: Batman and Damian back with the Turtles?! I’m here for all the ninja action!
NickZ: Looks like the start of a bromance between Donatello and Batman and I am all about it! #Sciencebros

Batman White Knight #3 (DC)
NickZ: If you are not reading this series, you need to correct that ASAP! Hollingsworth and Murphy have brilliantly twisted the Batman mythos into an intriguingly grim new vision.

Black Lightning: Cold Dead Hands #2 (DC)
Infinite Speech: Isabella and Henry are killing it on this series and I already want more than six issues. Those last 2 pages were a kick in the gut though.

Darth Vader #9 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: So are they just going to introduce cool Jedi for Vader to kill off?

Doctor Strange #382 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: I wasn’t ready for the death in this issue. Oh and if I cared about the character that returned this issue I would’ve been more excited.
NickZ: Strange seeks out a surprising ally from the past to aid him in stopping Loki.

Guardians of the Galaxy #148 (Marvel)
NickZ: You know the Nova Corps have hit rock bottom when then need the Guardians of the Galaxy to clean up their s***!

Hawkeye #13 (Marvel)
NickZ: Hawkeye and Hawkguy reunite and chaos ensues…as usual!

Iceman #8 (Marvel)
NickZ: The dinner with both Bobbys and their parents was perfect on so many levels! In fact, Sina Grace has nailed all of the interpersonal relationships in this entire series!

Iron Fist #75 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Sabretooth & Iron Fist make for a great team. Wonder if Cage is going to be jealous when he finds out?

Jim Henson’s The Power of the Dark Crystal #9 (BOOM!)
Infinite Speech: This series is the perfect follow up to the original film and fans should pick this up!

Justice League #34 (DC)
Infinite Speech: Priest’s first issue on Justice League and damn it’s intense! Loved the twist with the alien invasion too!
NickZ: I know Batman is the s***, but the Justice League are literally useless in this issue without his step by step direction.

Noble #7 (Lion Forge)
Infinite Speech: Holy $#!@ this issue was crazy! One of the best action sequences in comics this week with a pistol whipping at 30,000 ft! Who does that?!

Paper Girls #18 (Image)
NickZ: The 80’s, when it’s easier to believe your best friend has been replaced by an evil twin than it is to believe she is actually just a lesbian.

Spider-Man #235 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Marvel trying to be slick with Miles NOT wanting to wear his costume and do something “different”. Oh and a new power manifests too.

Spirits of Vengeance #3 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Too many cool characters for this issue to be the cure for insomnia. Loved the art thought.

Star Trek TNG Mirror Broken #5 (IDW)
NickZ: This cannot be over already! I demand a sequel! Hell, that Picard Maneuver on crack warrants a sequel all by itself!

Superman #36 (Marvel)
NickZ: Some very interesting developments on Apokolips and with Lex Luthor. I can’t wait to see how they play out but for now I’m really excited for the Super Sons of Tomorrow crossover!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #77 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: Tom Waltz has got me worried about Splinter.

The Walking Dead #174 (Image)
NickZ: At long last, Negan and Maggie come face to face and it doesn’t go the way you think it’s going to go.

X-Men Gold #17 (Marvel)
NickZ: So even when Kitty is not around, old man Logan out ranks Storm for leadership of the team? Marvel is doing her dirty, sending Rosa Parks to the back of the bus.
