Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 10/18/17

Animosity #10 (AfterShock)
Infinite Speech: Bennett has put so much horror and heart into this series and I’m so glad it just keeps getting better with each issue!

Animosity: Evolution #1 (AfterShock)
Infinite Speech: The world of Animosity expands and it is seriously worth a look!

Aquaman #29 (DC)
Arnab: The art in this is beyond gorgeous, truly. The fact that they’re trying to setup a some weird love triangle with this Dolphin girl, beyond annoying.

Batman #33 (DC)
Arnab: I really hope this sticks. At least for a couple years. The Bat and the Cat are pretty much the highest ranked OTP.
NickZ: I legit don’t get why any of the Robins other than Damian are upset over Batman’s engagement.

Batman the Drowned #1 (DC)
NickZ: I wouldn’t mind investigating this gender swapped dark world a little bit more.
Infinite Speech: Wow! Then wow again!
Eric: Did a Bat “man” just drown Gotham? WITH AQUAMAN POWERS!

Cable #150 (Marvel)
NickZ: Thank goodness for a new creative team, this book is already vastly better than the previous incarnation.

Captain Phasma #4 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Marvel can go ahead and give Kelly Thompson the Phasma ongoing series now. Thanks.

Champions #13 (Marvel)
NickZ: Totally digging this Champions/Avengers team-up! It feels like both teams are on equal ground for the first time.

Deadpool vs. Old Man Logan #1 (Marvel)
NickZ: That bit with the falling vehicles was pretty damn funny.

Descender #25 (Image)
Arnab: This is one of those books where all you want is for it to end happily, but like, you don’t know how that’s possible.
NickZ: Just when you think things are as crazy as they can get, Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen find a way to top it!

Doctor Strange #26 (Marvel)
NickZ: Strange and Zelma have another crazy adventure with their limited powers. Also, how sick was that Jakub Rebelka cover?

Dusu  TPB (Stranger Comics)
Infinite Speech: Love how this series is full of POC in a genre that continuously neglects and limits them and is just an awesome story to begin with!

Faith and the Future Force #4 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: Didn’t know this would be so much fun!

Horizon #15 (Image/Skybound)
Infinite Speech: WHAATT??! Thomas just flipped the script with Lincoln and I don’t know who to trust and who not trust anymore!

Invincible #141 (Image)
NickZ: Why can’t they just get a happy ending? Don’t they deserve that? Don’t we?

Kid Lobotomy #1 (Black Crown/IDW)
Infinite Speech: It’s weird, fanstastic, and from Peter Milligan and Tess Fowler so you should pick it up!

Justice League #31 (DC)
NickZ: Well this has been one of the better Justice League stories in recent years.

Luke Cage #166 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: WTF is this?? With visuals this bad it was hard to get through Walker’s story and again, WTF is this? I want Nelson Blake II back or someone else who can draw and make this look good.

Nightwing #31 (DC)
NickZ: Lately Dick can’t seem to please any of the women in his life.

Peter Parker: the Spectacular Spider-Man #5 (Marvel)
NickZ: What an iconic cover. It’s amazing how many people haven’t realized that Peter is Spider-Man with how obvious they make it in this book.

Superb #4 (Lion Forge)
Infinite Speech: Kayla just stepped up in a big way but “Captain Party-Pooper” will always be stuck in the back of my mind whenever I see her! Thanks Walker!

Superman #33 (DC)
NickZ: Only the Kents would get separated on their involuntary vacation to Apocalypse.

Super Sons #9 (DC)
NickZ: Jon is definitely Clark Kent’s son and the apple didn’t fall far from the tree!

Titans #16 (DC)
NickZ: Brett Booth’s art on this book is so good and I really loved Dan Mora’s variant cover for this issue too!

Trinity #14 (DC)
NickZ: Wonder Woman, Zatanna, and Batman prove why they are some of the most BAMF in the DC Universe!

Venom #156 (Marvel)
NickZ: It’s like Kraven’s Last Hunt except with Venom instead of that lame-o Spider-Man!

War Mother #3 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: This just keeps getting messy but in a good way! Props to Flaco for standing up for itself and pulling Ana’s butt out the fire!

X-Men Gold #14 (Marvel)
NickZ: It’s the X-Men’s greatest hits! (Literally!)
