Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 10/11/17

Action Comics #989 (DC)
Martin: 3/5 stars. I was originally intrigued by Jor-El being Mr. Oz. But nothing really adds up, & Jor-El is too 1-dimensional.
NickZ: Jor-El needs to leave Jon alone!

All-New Wolverine #25 (Marvel)
NickZ: Despite the horrible things he has done, I always have a soft spot for Daken.

Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #15 (DC)
NickZ: Talk about a girls night out! Batgirl has just assembled the greatest female superhero team that the DCU has ever seen!

Black Science #32 (Image)
NickZ: This poor family literally get one disaster under control only to have two more bombs get dropped on them.

Dark Knights Metal #3 (DC)
Arnab: Dick and Clark both sense the message that Bruce is sending, but only one gets it right. Yup, that sounds about right.
Martin: 4/5 stars. Capullo’s at really makes this shine. The story is so detailed, it might be easier to read in trade.
NickZ: When Batman sends a secret message so brilliantly that it completely goes over Superman’s dense noggin.

Defenders #6 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: I’m really tired of Deadpool. Really. Tired.

The Despicable Deadpool #287 (Marvel)
NickZ: I’ve always assumed Cable would fair much better than this in a fight with Deadpool.

Detective Comics #966 (DC)
Arnab: Future Tim seems like the kind of superhero I’d turn out to be, but then again, that’s why I’m no crimefighter.
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. I always love alternative future histories, and that combined with Barrows’ art makes this pure awesome.
NickZ: I’m not a fan of future Tim Drake and his methods but I’m also not the least bit upset over what happened with future Damian.

Falcon #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Didn’t like the thought of this at first but I’m coming around thanks to Thompson.

Flash #32 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Negative Flash just isn’t working for me – one of the things I like about Barry is his optimism. But, it LOOKS good.

First Strike #5 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: There’s been so many great moments since this started that I can’t wait to see how it all plays out when it’s over!

Gotham City Garage #1 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. As I mentioned, I’m a sucker for future alternate histories. This one has a very intriguing premise.

Harbinger #8 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: Valiant isn’t playing around and now I really can’t wait for Harbinger Wars 2!

M.A.S.K. #10 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: Noooo! Not the final issue!

Mech Cadet Yu #3 (BOOM!)
Infinite Speech: Pak is delivering some awesome storytelling making this one spectacular ‘boy and his robot’ tales to hit comics!

Mister Miracle #3 (DC)
Infinite Speech: Bravo Tom King. Bravo.
NickZ: At a time when DC is publishing some of their best work in years, this book is leaps and bounds above the rest!

Ragman #1 (DC)
Infinite Speech: I was one of those weird kids who really liked Ragman back in the day and now I’m a weird adult that’s excited about this new series!

Red Hood and the Outlaws #15 (DC)
NickZ: Jason and his pals have officially met their match in Batwoman and her crew!

Star Trek TNG Mirror Broken #4 (IDW)
NickZ: Star Trek has never been this insanely fun before! A must read for Star Trek TNG fans.

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #25 (Marvel)
NickZ: Nancy giving the “Cutting loose” speech that Superman gave in Justice League Unlimited was PRICELESS!

The Uncanny Avengers #28 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: It’s not an X book or and Avengers title but something else thanks to Zub’s great storytelling.
NickZ: Suddenly it’s not so bad being Johnny Storm. Also, Beast needs to go die somewhere.

The Wicked + The Divine #32 (Image)
NickZ: Savagely brutal and utterly heartbreaking, this series does not quit!

Wildstorm: Michael Cray #1 (DC)
Infinite Speech: Bryan Hill and N. Steven Harris on the same title just knocked it out the park with this one!

The Woods #36 (Boom!)
NickZ: As much as I want to know what happens next to these characters, this ending just feels right. It the perfect way to end an amazing series!

X-Men Blue #13 (Marvel)
NickZ: They did Bloodstorm so wrong in this book and I don’t really even like her.
