Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 10/03/18

Adventure of the Super Sons #3 (DC)
NickZ: Pure, unadulterated fun!

Batman #56 (DC)
NickZ: Bruce goes into full on Batman mode tracking down the man who shot Dick. May God have mercy on his soul.

Justice League #9 (DC)
NickZ: A stand alone issue that really dives into character development. I’m still not sure I understood what was going on between Batman and Superman.

Nightwing #50 (DC)
Arnab: This… is a completely unnecessary plot direction for Dick Grayson. Do better DC.
NickZ:
In the aftermath of his injury, this new amnesiac Dick is an interesting development for his character.

Paper Girls #25 (Image)
NickZ: If the girls learning that time may be immutable isn’t heartbreaking enough, now they have lost their greatest strength, each other.

Shatter Star #1 (Marvel)
NickZ: This started with the feel of Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye run but it looks like it’s going to be a whole lot less grounded.

The Superior Octopus #1 (Marvel)
NickZ: Looks like Otto’s superior intelligence seems to be the cause of some major problems for the Spider-Verse!

The Umbrella Academy #1 (Dark Horse)
NickZ: The return of the Umbrella Academy didn’t disappoint. I do regret not rereading the original series before diving into this one tho.

The Walking Dead #184 (Image)
NickZ: I love how this series has now become a sociological exploration of what makes a society “work” and how far people are willing to sell their soul to protect that illusion.

What If? The X-Men #1 (Marvel)
NickZ: Definitely an interesting What If tale but it isn’t something you need to read.

Wonder Woman and Justice League Dark: The Witching Hour #1 (DC)
NickZ: All hell has broken loose in the magical side of DC and Wonder Woman seems to be smack dab in the center of it! I’m interested to see what lasting effects these developments with have on her.

X-Men Black Magneto #1 (Marvel)
NickZ: A really great Magneto story that isn’t big on action but does show more of his personality and motivations. The Apocalypse story was true gem of this book tho. I cannot wait to see where that’s going and how it is going to lead into the new Uncanny X-Men series.
