CHIRPBANNER1

Adventures of Superman #4 (DC)
NickZ: Four issues in and this is a Superman book that has yet to disappoint! I think that’s a new record.

A+X #11 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: Great showcase of Thor’s stubbornness along with a chilling ending to Spidey and Cyclops’ team-up.
NickZ: It’s about time this book showed team Cyclops some love.

astonishing 66Astonishing X-Men #66 (Marvel)
Jeff: This is like X-Men meets thirtysomething.
NickZ: The X-Men are at their best when they are having “family time”. This would have worked better as a stand alone issue.

Avengers Arena #14 (Marvel)
Jeff: I wonder what trigger scent actually smells like? Scratch-n-sniff anyone?
NickZ: This book really utilizes flashbacks very well. I wonder who can survive X-23?

Batman The Dark Knight #23 (DC)
NickZ: Probably one of the best Batman/Penguin exchanges in a while takes place in this issue.

Batman Incorporated Special #1 (DC)
NickZ: DC should seriously consider turning Batman Incorporated into a book that showcases a different international Batman Inc member for each arc.

bs 3Batman/Superman #3 (DC)
Arnab: Little Bruce was badass.
Dr. Bustos: Young Bruce and young Clark was heartwarming and made me smile.
Martin: Jae Lee’s art continues to impress, more background on Earth 2’s original heroes, plus young Clark & Bruce.
NickZ: The flashback story about little Bruce and Clark playing baseball was worth the cost of admission.

Catwoman #23 (DC)
NickZ: Joker’s daughter. ugh.

Deadpool #15 (Marvel)
NickZ: People tend to hate on Deadpool books but I gotta say this one is pretty good. Better than Wolverine’s that’s for sure.

Dresden Files: Ghoul Goblin #6 (Dynamite)
Dr. Bustos: End of the story and it was very much like a horror film climax, I still wish the magic was drawn better in this book though. It all looks like blue beams of energy!

FF #11 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: I like how even in the most strange and alien circumstances, a father wanting to do right by his son is such a basic thing across dimensions.
Jeff: I like the idea that the Impossible Man’s son is completely normal.

Flash #23 (DC)
Martin: Consistently some of the best artwork and storytelling in the DCU. Interesting revelation about Reverse Flash.

Gambit #16 (Marvel)
Jeff: My God, I couldn’t be more uninterested.
NickZ: This books seriously needs to made into a TV show. It would be totally doable.

Green Team #4 (DC)
Dr. Bustos: That was an interesting way to end that and I hope there’s more to come.

Jericho Season 4 #4 (IDW Publishing)
Infinite Speech:
Still liking the series and the art is SOOOO much better now!

Justice League #23 (DC)
Martin:
Excellent art. Actually a pretty darn good story, but a real let-down as a “conclusion” to Trinity War.
Infinite Speech:
Not going to spoil this for you but it was a bit anti climatic and a bit predictable. Just a bit.
NickZ: Really? That’s it?

New Avengers #9 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: EFF NAMOR!! This better be a trick or I’m going to hope that T’Challa beats him so bad he’ll wish he was pre New 52 Aquaman.
Jeff: Oh, Wakanda is about to go down!

Number 13 tpb (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: I’ve got two words for ya: READ IT!!

Occupy Comics #3 (Black Mask)
Infinite Speech:
Wealth of information regardless of where you stand on the issues.

Overtaken #1 (Aspen)
Infinite Speech:
Felt like it jumped around a lot and I still don’t know what’s going on after 2 reads.

Scarlet Spider #21 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech:
Fun but predictable about halfway through.
NickZ: This issue made me miss Ben, but Kaine is still cool too.

Secret Avengers #8 (Marvel)
Jeff: I never thought a Mockingbird-centric story would be any good, but this issue is fantastic!

Sex #6 (Image)
NickZ: If I had to sum up this book in two words it would be depression and filth.. but in a good way.

Skullkickers #24 (Image)
Infinite Speech:
Another fun group of Tavern Tales from a great bunch of creators!
NickZ: Skullkickers is probably the funnest book that you’re not reading.

Star Wars Legacy #6 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech:
There is so much going on that it’s unfair to limit it to 22 pages

Superman #23 (DC)
NickZ: This book is just a train wreck.

Talon #11 (DC)
NickZ: Bane makes his move on Gotham and only Talon, his friends, and Batman stand in his way.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #25 (IDW)
Infinite Speech:
It’s really unfair to other comics how great this is! It’s great when story and art sync up so perfectly!

Teen Titans #23 (DC)
NickZ: I think I am only reading this book for a character that no longer exists.

Thanos Rising #5 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Nice conclusion to a great mini series. Thanos is bat$#!t crazy!
Jeff: This was such a great mini-series. I’m actually more interested in Thanos now!

Think Tank #9 (Top Cow)
Infinite Speech:
WTF?? I’m going to need Hawkins to get rid of her at some point in the story.
NickZ: Think Tank is a fantastic book! Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

thor 12Thor: God of Thunder #12 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: This may be my favorite issue of Thor ever, I want that panel with Thor and the protestors framed.
Jeff: If you thought Jason Aaron had run out of awesomeness after the last arc, you thought wrong. This book is the best.

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #26 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: I like all the hero/villain building going on right now while Miles gets his head back in the game.
Infinite Speech: Peter isn’t in this book either and it’s been great since the first issue!
Jeff: And along came Ultimate Taskmaster!

Uncanny Avengers #11 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: So glad I stuck with this series to read this great story arc!
Jeff: I kinda get the Apocalypse Twins’ master plan, and don’t blame them for wanting to move all the mutants away.
NickZ: Is Scarlet Witch going to eff things up for mutants again? Also, what’s up with the mention of the White Hot Room? Jean?

Uncanny X-Men #11 (Marvel)
Arnab: How can anyone not like Cyclops?
Infinite Speech: Page after page of Cyclops whining does not make for an enjoyable comic.
Jeff: So who was that guy at the end? I wanna know!
NickZ: If you ask me, this is X-Men back to basics. Mutants protecting humans that …DON’T fear and hate them? What?

Wolverine and the X-Men #35 (Marvel)
Dr. Bustos: He’s back! He’s coming back! That’s how you end a storyline with me wanting more but feeling satisfaction with what I’ve been given.
Infinite Speech: The ending would have been much better had it not been SPOILED MONTHS AGO BY MARVEL!!!
Jeff: Finally! The Hellfire Saga is over. Let’s move on now!
NickZ: Half the stuff that goes on in this books makes no sense. Why would you enroll the Hellfire Club members, who just tried to kill you, in the school filled with mutant kids?

Wolverine Max #10 (Marvel)ya 9
NickZ: Wolverine kills an old man! He’s such a hero!

Young Avengers #9 (Marvel)
Arnab: This series better end with a reunion of my favorite Marvel couple.
Dr. Bustos: Call backs to Journey into Mysteries and plots thickening like wild, more please.
NickZ: The break up of the century! Don’t worry,I still ship them.
