All-Star Batman #8 (DC)
Infinite Speech: Not a Mad Hatter fan so this issue wasn’t as fun as the others but this arc is still pretty good. It also looks like we’re close to seeing Duke finally get a codename!
American Gods: Shadows #1 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: Great entry for new readers and a strong adaptation for fans of the novel! Read American Gods!
Batman #19 (DC)
Arnab: Seeing Bane fight demolish his way through the Batman rogues gallery was absolutely impressive.
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. Excellent art and panel layouts that match this story of Bane fighting his way through Batman’s rogues in Arkham.
Infintie Speech: This issue just shows that if Batman and Bane ever teamed up they could probably clean up Gotham in about a day and a half.
Batwoman #1 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. This succeeds based on strong characterization, even though plot-wise, nothing much happens. Nice addition of Julia.
Infinte Speech: Decided to pick this up on a whim because I’m a huge fan of Bennett and I was NOT disappointed!
Black Panther: World of Wakanda #5 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: We finally get caught up to the current events in the main title and I’m going to need Ayo and Aneka to show up in the Black Panther movie now!
Captain America: Sam Wilson #20 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: So many conflicting feelings about this storyline but I guess that’s what Spencer is going for here. Not a bad thing but it’s grounded in much of reality.
East of West #32 (Image)
Arnab: After years of storytelling, Hickman and Dragotta still haven’t missed a beat.
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. Hickman & Dragotta pack so much into each EoW issue! Chamberlain-focused stories are always rewarding.
Green Arrow #19 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. GA has been one of the strongest of the Rebirth titles, but this arc with Arsenal just isn’t doing it for me.
Green Lanterns #19 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Great art & fun depictions of GLs’ powers. Nice to see Dr. Polaris, but seems a sidestep from the main arc.
He-Man/Thundercats #6 (DC)
Infinite Speech: It was cheesy, over the top, and ridiculously fun in the end! The perfect 80s era team-up!
Horizon #9 (Image)
Infinite Speech: This goes from action tour de force to an emotional roller coaster that you will want to ride till the end!
Justice League #17 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. The art is what raises the score for this; the story is intriguing but honestly a bit confusing so far.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #13 (BOOM!)
Infinite Speech: This is one badass series by Higgins and Prasetya and it would make for a perfect television series all over again!
Nightwing #17 (DC)
Arnab: Dude, that one part where Damian admits to being afraid that Dick will move on without him? Fucking heart breaking goodness.
Martin: 4/5 stars. Some cool, creepy bad guys, but the real “star” is what this might reveal about the bigger Rebirth universe.
Spider-Man #14 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Someone wake me when this is over.
Superman #19 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. There’s a great panel of a malevolent-looking Mxyzptzlk, but the weird New 52 stuff just feels off so far.
Super Sons #2 (DC)
Arnab: Super Sons? More like Super Fun, this book is fantastic.
Martin: 4/5 stars. What I thought was going to be a gimmick is instead a fun book that explores Damian’s & Jon’s personalities.
Totally Awesome Hulk #17 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Jeffery was THAT GUY in a crisis but he didn’t deserve that. This has also been one of the best team-ups this year thanks to Greg Pak!
Trinity #7 (DC)
Martin: 3/5 stars. This is a book I really want to like, but so far we don’t have a good sense of why the Trinity are good together.
