Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 07/22/15

Aquaman #42 (DC)
Arnab: Whatever Arthur did, he better apologize to Mera. #teamMera But honestly though, this whole plot of Arthur is secretly the good guy and Mera just doesn’t realize it yet, is nonsense.

Archie vs Predator #4 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: I stopped trying to take this seriously and just had complete fun with the series!

cyborg 1Cyborg #1 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Great art on a good redesign of the character. Much more of a psychological look at Vic & his relationships.
Infinite Speech: Walker and Reis break Cyborg down then build him up in a great issue for new readers and longtime fans!

E is for Extinction #2 (Marvel)
Arnab: That cover art is just so damn off putting.

Flash #42 (DC)
Arnab: Not really digging this arc, for whatever reason. If they wanted Henry out of prison, just get him out normally. This doesn’t work for me.
Martin: 4/5 stars. Booth continues to knock it out of the park, art-wise, and Professor Zoom is portrayed as the evil psycho he is.

Future Imperfect #3 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Not what I expected but if anyone has a shot at beating Doom it’s Maestro. Did I mention that I love seeing so much of Ruby in this series?!

Gotham by Midnight #7 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Ferreryra is proving to have the perfect style for this book, which doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

Grayson #2 (DC)
Arnab: Easily one of my top three DC books. The writing, the art, everything about this book is wonderful.

Ivar, Timewalker #7 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: I can’t be the only one who feels that this series is comic perfection, right?

IX Generation #4 (Top Cow)
Infinite Speech: Hawkins gives you smart and exciting sci-fi while Sejic executes stunning visuals along the way. This is a series you should be reading.

John Carter: Warlord of Mars #9 (Dynamite)
Infinite Speech: Theres a Dejah Thoris/Princess Peach joke somewhere in here but I still say this is a fantastic series fans of the mythos need to be reading!

Kanan – The Last Padawan #4 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: A harsh lesson learned in another great issue. From story to art this is one of the top Star Wars titles out now.

RunLoveKill #4 (Image)
Infinite Speech: She took a rocket to the face and is still standing?! I’d abort the mission right there if I were Boone! Tsuei and Canete continue to deliver some fantastic storytelling in this series!

Teen Titans (DC)
Arnab: So after all this they’re just going to hug and kiss and forget the fact that they just spent days kicking the shit out of each other? Really?
Infinite Speech: That was pretty anticlimactic so I hope there are better things ahead.

Uncanny X-Men #35 (Marvel)wolf 1
Arnab: Can you say misleading cover? That had nothing to do with the inside, granted the inside story was good.

We Are Robin #2 (DC)
Arnab: So these kids really think Batman, who is now roaming the streets of Gotham in a robot suit, is amassing an army of teenagers?
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. I like the cast of characters but am waiting for them to gel & start doing more so we can get a sense of story
Infinite Speech: I’m definitely sticking around to get to know theses characters and I’ll be picking up a pair of red Chucks real soon!

Wolf #1 (Image)
Martin: 4/5 stars. There’s so much to like in this partly because there’s just SO MUCH packed in here. Hard to get a sense of it quite yet.
