DC Comics is having another ring promotion along with their next big event, Brightest Day. This time, DC is offering a Flash ring and re-offering the Green Lantern ring. To get these rings, retailers must purchase 10 copies of The Flash #1 and 10 copies of Green Lantern #53. Readers can look for The Flash #1 and the Flash rings in stores on April 14. Green Lantern #53 and the Green Lantern rings will be in stores on April 21. Both of these books will be solicited in the February issue of Previews.
DC’s blog, The Source, caught up with Dan DiDio and Geoff Johns and asked for their thoughts on the promotion. DiDio said, “These rings are not only very cool, but they’re a big thank-you to our fans, who’ve helped make Blackest Night a huge success. We’re hoping we can all keep the momentum going once the Blackest Night ends and the Brightest Day begins.”
Johns said, “One of the many great Flash facts about DC Comics is that they actually do support the retailers with promotions like this that not only make our whole business a bit more fun, but also bring the promotion to every single reader. Of course, the proof is in the content and I couldn’t be prouder of the work Francis Manapul and I are doing on The Flash and Doug Mahnke and I are creating on Green Lantern. Thanks to everyone, retailers and readers, for an amazing 2009 and here’s to an even better 2010!”
The last ring promotion DC did, a ring from each corps with a certain title and issue, was great! I have the Green Lantern ring from that promotion so I’ll focus on getting the Flash ring from this one, but if I end up with another GL ring I won’t be complaining. It’s also nice to see that this is a way DC is giving back to the fans and retailers. Be sure to check with your comic book retailer for more details about this promotion!

I guess it’s great if cheap plastic rings are your thing. I suppose they’d be perfect for costumes, and kids would like them. Otherwise, I mean…it’s like something you’d get out of a cracker jack or cereal box. Which was cool…when I was 10.
Personally I’d rather a company knock 50 cents or a dollar off their book as a form of appreciation, but whatever.
SOOOO PSYCHED!!:D
Awesome!
Your point Kris?

Then you are truly blessed, my man.

It’s a gift.
I’m sure Brightest Day will do just as well considering the momentum from BN. Same crew on the story I think. Nice job Jordan.
