Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews 01/18/27

Batman #15 (DC)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. Nice story about Bruce/Selina’s on-again, off-again romance. Best part was flashback scenes to their 1st meeting.

Black Panther: World of Wakanda #3 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Gay and Coates are bringing a terrific story here and I’m here for it! Just know Ayo & Aneka aren’t here for your male gaze and will put the kung fu hands on you!

Captain America: Sam Wilson #18 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Finally a good issue that didn’t need to rely on Misty to save it.

Divinity III: Aric: Son of the Revolution #1 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: We see how Aric came to serve Russia, beat down the Deadside, and we meet a new character w/ a disgusting but cool power!

Generation Zero #6 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: These kids are some of my favorite heroes in comics right now!

Green Arrow #15 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. The Ollie/Dinah relationship continues to be a highlight of this book, which is 1 of the best of Rebirth.

Green Lanterns #15 (DC)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. Extremely well-done 1-off story about Jessica facing her fears & interacting with others to draw strength

Harbinger Renegade #3 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: Superheroes who are actually fighting bad guys instead of each other. YES!

He-Man/Thundercats #4 (DC)
Infinite Speech: Snarf’s head is on a pike in this issue and all is right for just a moment.

Horizon #7 (Image)
Infinite Speech: You want a comic that’s several levels of greatness? Pick up Horizon!

Justice League #13 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Really great art with great scenes, but ties so closely to JL vs SS that it can’t be ready as a standalone.

Justice League of America: The Ray Rebirth #1 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. I don’t remember much of the Ray, but this is a solid origin story w/ some really strong art & coloring.

Justice League versus Suicide Squad #5 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Good action story finally getting into the main plot. Bats leading SS is fun if implausible.

Mosaic #4 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Mosaic gets inside of Spidey’s head and the battle is mind blowing!

Motor Girl #3 (Abstract)
Infinite Speech: I’m having too much fun with this crazy series!

Nightwing #13 (DC)
Arnab:
Nightwing has always been a great role model.
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. I like the idea of the “Run Offs” working with Nightwing, but the reveal of the “big bad” was a bit predictable

Postal #17 (Top Cow)
Infinite Speech: Daaaamn! A suspenseful issue you should not miss and the last sentence is just so timely!

Raven #5 (DC)
Martin: 3/5 stars. I like Raven, and had high hopes for this series, but it’s just dragging out for no reason. Nothing happens this issue.

Revolutionaries #1 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: There’s a LOT going on in this issue but Kup makes it all worthwhile.

Superman #15 (DC)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. I am really digging this arc which is almost like a sequel to Morrison’s “Multiversity.” Feels so Silver Age.

Trinity #5 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Manupul’s art is amazing here, and there’s some really interesting things happening, but the story is a bit muddled
