The final issue of this story arc of The Occultist has finally arrived! How does this story end after setting up quite the case for vengeance? Will Rob and the Sword be able to work out their problems or suffer the consequences? What’s going to happen when he confronts Mr. Charles who has plans coming to fruition? Let’s find out!

This was not the action-packed confrontation I was expecting it to be, but it certainly was satisfying to learn the truth behind who Mr. Charles really was. I won’t spoil it, but we got through some history to get to now, and it was interesting. I’ve read stories like it before, but I liked this spin on it because Faustian bargains are classic. I still didn’t ruin anything by mentioning Faust, thanks twist.

This issue does a good job of wrapping everything up and setting up for the next story if and when it comes our way. I liked that this arc had the very popular in current TV seasons method to put the big action into the penultimate part and leave the final one to set things in order. The art was top notch again, those dead creatures are always a treat to see what kind of stuff we’ll get. The flashback was great in the art because you could piece things together just by looking at the panels.

A great issue and story arc as a whole for The Occultist. I hope we can be expecting more of these in the future, sooner rather than later because I’m a big fan of what we’re getting. We got The Occultist, a detective, and a ghost working together. This could be a fun show if the comic is any sign. I’m glad this comic exists and you should check it out if you like magic with some horror splashed into adventure.
