Happy almost Halloween everyone! What goes great at this time of year? Monsters; and the zombie more specifically has to be a sentimental favorite for just about everyone. This is the season for the creepy crawling human eaters, and what can be better than having Zombieland in the theaters, and an all new entry into the growing library of Max Brooks’ world of the undead in a new spin off from The Zombie Survival Guide!
The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks is the newest outing for the master of all things zombie, Max Brooks. What you want out of a good monster story is a chill running down your spine when you read it. You want to be able to believe that it is real and could happen to you. That is why you want to read Max Brooks; he makes it seem not only plausible, but so real that you will want to sleep with a shot gun and sharp blade at night. He again delivers another brilliant entry into his growing library of Zombie must have stories. Artist Ibraim Roberson’s work is moving, and does so much to tell this story that he has quickly become a favorite of mine.
He set the bar with The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z, and here he adds to this richly crafted world with a beautifully stunning book that is a must have not only for Zombie fans, but anyone who loves graphic novels.
As always, Brooks moves so methodically through history going from point A to Z, that you have to love his ability to spin a tale and make you want more at the end. He smartly ties this story into the weave of World War Z in such a way that you wonder, how can this not be real?! It is brutal and beautiful, set at a pace that sucks you in and spits you out (minus the zombie bites), and makes you want to read it all over again once you turn that last page.
Pick up The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks; it has zombies for the love of god, what more do you want?! Besides, when the zombie invasion begins you will be better off for it because you will be prepared (remember “always aim for the head and double tap” is your new motto)!

Sweet! I will have to check it out. I was not sure if I would like it or not but it sounds good.
Glad that I could help!
I want to borrow it from my library, but they only have World War Z and (which got in) Zombie Survival Guide.
My reading list is HUGE right now. I have Zombie Guide and World War Z (a reread) to add.
I actually have The Zombie Survival Guide and I will soon be getting WWZ and this book here! Max Brooks is so detailed and precise you can’t help but love these books. I was told that WWZ is going to be made into a movie, don’t know if it’s just speculation or truth. Hopefully it’s gonna happen but if you like zombies then definitely pick up the series from Brooks!!
I did not even plan on reading this one until I had the extra $ to pick it up. Then I happened to be in the library and there it was! Thank you library for your fine selection of graphic novels! This is a totally great read and it just fits so well in with World War Z.
Hey everyone, Happy Hallowen!

This graphic novel sold incredibly well at my store. I’m not a huge zombie guy (I love The Walking Dead and that’s about it), but I’m thinking this one may be worth the time..
