“War of the Witchblades” Part five of six: For anyone who doesn’t know, Sara and Dani each posses a half of the Witchblade and now it’s been revealed that Sara has the “dark” half and Dani is in possession of the “light” half. So now outside forces are conspiring to take control of that coveted artifact by pitting the two against each other as Sara’s half is corrupting her and Dani feels it’s her duty to help her friend no matter the cost. Get the picture so far? Good…
Now in this issue Dani is on her way to see if she can put an end to this and she’s followed by Angelus Warriors to her meeting with Sara. Dani asks to go it alone and see if she can at least reason one more time with her friend, not realizing that Sara is wayyy past the point of reasoning and would rather put a bladed foot in her ass! This is the fight Sara has been waiting for and her “dark” half has completely taken over and it’s reflected in the new armour and her army of Darklings. That’s right folks! You can’t be a creature of the Darkness without ’em! Dani realizes that it’s actually time to throw down and that their last meeting was just a warm up!
Ron Marz continues to tell a good story in this issue and doesn’t leave you hangin’ too much but just enough to get you ready for Part 6. Sejic’s art has gradually won me over and I think it fits perfectly in the Witchblade mythos. He brought the visual intensity to the fight providing that “bring it bitch!” moment between Dani and Sara near the beginning where Dani ends up getting gashed and then her Witchblade stitches her up! After first blood is drawn it’s time for Dani to step up and prove she’s worthy of the title!
All in all, a good story in a great arc and I’m even more interested about the subplots which don’t seem forced and flow with the story pretty well. I have high expectations for the ending of this thing- hopefully I’m not disappointed!

I think it’s really cool that older characters are being phased out to make way for the new. It’s happening here in Witchblade as well as in Batman, X-Men, and Spawn as Al Simmons is no more!
So is this going to be the end of the line for Sara? I feel kinda sad. But she has Darklings? Oh, hellz yeah! Awesome.
