Webcomic of the Month! February: Copernicus Jones: Robot Detective

Welcome back to Webcomic of the Month for this February! It may be the shortest month of the year, but it’s also my birthday month, so I am very excited to announce this month’s choice, Copernicus Jones: Robot Detective! Written by Matt D. Wilson, drawn by Kevin Warren, and lettered by Dylan Todd, it’s one of my favorite comics of this new year. This is another not-so-conventional choice, because this used to be a webcomic. Originally, Copernicus Jones was going to be a Webcomic of the Month sometime last year, but when I went to go finish reading what was available, it was gone from its site. Turns out the reason for that was it had gotten picked up for release by Monkeybrain Comics in 2014 on Comixology. So since then I’ve been anxiously waiting to see this comic become available again so I can finish reading it.

copernicus jones issue 1The name says it all, doesn’t it? Copernicus Jones: Robot Detective tells you exactly what you’re getting, much like Killer Klowns from Outer Space, if you enjoy the idea of robots in any way then it’s for you. If you like detective stories then you should definitely check it out, because it is an old noir, hard-boiled detective kind of story. What starts as a simple case is getting more complex and has Copernicus in one heck of a jam. The comic is a buck, so I’m not spoiling anything; you should go read it.

He’s a robot who dresses up in a fedora and trench coat. I think you can see why I wanted this to be a Webcomic of the Month. Even if it is no longer a webcomic, it still falls under our Great Webcomics That Don’t Update Anymore, with the added bonus of still being available thanks to Monkeybrain Comics.
