Archer and Armstrong is a great comic and it’s because of Rafer Roberts. I love the chemistry that Roberts writes between Archer and Armstrong. Roberts has them pulling pranks on one another and writes a very entertaining banter between them. Mike Norton does a great job drawing the panels. Norton utilizes good angles and choreography. Norton’s character portrayals are spot on and express good emotional context. Passalaqua and Baron do a good job with their color choices. They are vivid without overloading the panels. The artistic team did a great job with the presentation and Dave Sharpe’s lettering was in a good font, consistent and easy to read.

Several issues ago Archer and Armstrong came across a traveling circus full of “freaks” that are clone-failures. Things get pretty crazy, pretty fast as they find out that these “freaks” are clones of Armstrong. A lab, run by a genius scientist that just happens to be a talking, bipedal bear. The bear and his assistants have been trying to discover the secret to Armstrong’s immortality. And now, having captured Archer and Armstrong, the scientists have the source – Armstrong. This issue finally wraps up the circus event and Roberts does it in a good way.
