Knocked Passed Out

Now on to the drinking! Marvel vs. Capcom is already a brilliant and exciting game, but add a group of your friends and a couple bottles of your favorite drinks, and it becomes a cocktail for some competitive awesomeness.

The rules are simple. You lose your first character, you take a shot. You lose your second character, you take another shot. You get KO’d, you take a double shot! You really want enough friends to set this game up tournament style, and even if you rank low on the brackets, your blood alcohol level will surely rank the highest. You can’t lose! Apply the same principle to any of your favorite fighting games.

The Viewing Party

One of the most common drinking games is kicking back with friends, watching a favorite movie, and waiting for those special reoccurring moments to all share a drink. Most friend circles have their own favorites, and these are just a few of mine.

The Walking Dead

Before season two of The Walking Dead aired in October of last year, my friends and I gathered for a Walking Dead season one marathon with plenty of drinks to keep it interesting. Rules are as follows:

– When a zombie bites a human, take a shot
– When a character cries or fires a shotgun, take a long sip of your cocktail
– When Dale makes a goofy face, chug a beer

I think we made it through episode four.

Star Wars (any film)

– When a lightsaber is turned on, take a shot
– When someone feels something in the force, drink half a beer
– (For episodes IV-VI) When there’s a female on screen who isn’t Princes Lea, drink tequila
– When some screams “NOOOO!”, take a double shot

Are you starting to see the trend here? Here are a few more (develop your own drinking stipulations to your liking):

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987 animated series)

– When Raphael says something sarcastic
– When Michelangelo says “Cowabunga” or “tubular notion”
– When Pizza is seen on screen
– When April O’Neil is kidnapped
-When you remember that the voice of Shredder is Uncle Phil from
Fresh Prince of Bel Air

"Will!!"

Transformers (films)

– When a Transformer transforms
– When Optimus Prime says “Rollout” or “Fate”
– When Shia Labeouf stumbles over his words
– When a character does a goofy and silly scream of fear

X-Men (1990s animated series)

– When Wolverine pops his claws or says bub
– When Gambit hits on Rogue
– When Jean Grey cries or says “Oh, Scott…”
– When Prof. X screams in pain

Super Friends

– When you hear the sound of Superman flying away
– When the colors on Batman’s symbol are reversed
– When there’s a transition sequence
– When Wonder Twin powers have been activated

There are a million different ways to get creative with your favorite drinks, movies, or even your special edition Marvel Universe Monopoly. And heck, these games are good for any weekend party, not just St. Patrick’s Day. I’ll never forget the Justice League cosplay strip poker Halloween I had last year. Come up with your own games and drink recipes and please post them in the comments section!

And however you choose to drink, please remember to do it responsibly!

This is hilarious! I think we need to have a ComicAttack staff party!

It’s funny you should put this up because when I go out I randomly order drinks named after various comic characters just to see the look on the bartender’s faces lol
