Before we get to Spider-Man’s wardrobe, the sack people of Little Big Planet got their fourth Marvel makeover with a new batch of Marvel themed costumes. Take a look.
They join Iron Man, Thing, Mystique, Daredevil, Doctor Octopus, Thor, Spider-Man, Human Torch, Elektra, Ghost Rider, Captain America, Invisible Woman, Rogue, Venom, and Wolverine from Costume Packs 1-3. Pack 4 is up now.
These costumes are so adorable! And I love games like this that let me just goof around with my favorite comic characters.
There’s a new DC Universe Online trailer about choosing which side of the law you wish to fight on. As cool as it would be to fight crime along side my favorite heroes, the idea of teaming up with villains to take my favorite heroes down seems slightly more tempting. I don’t know what that says about me as a person, but you can’t deny there would be a certain satisfaction and pride in being able to say you defeated Superman. See the trailer here.
A few weeks ago a supposed list of all playable characters for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was leaked. While obviously the legitimacy of the list is unconfirmable, one name on the Capcom side was Viewtiful Joe, and he was just announced as a fighter in the game, but also just announced for the Marvel side, and missing from the leaked list, is Dr. Strange villain Dormammu.
One of my favorite features of the old Spider-Man games (particularly Spider-Man for the N64/PlayStation) was the ridiculous amount of unlockable costumes. The Spider-Man games of late have lost the extra costumes for Spidy to swing around in, but Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions offers a really good selection of cool attire. In addition to the starting four costumes (Amazing, Ultimate, 2099, and Noir), six other costumes are available.
See the new trailer featuring Scarlet Spider-Man here. Sadly, some of these costumes are pre-order exclusive to certain retailers, but what costumes do you want to see in the game as possible DLC? I would love to see a really classic Steve Ditko Spider-Man with the small eyes and webbing under the armpits.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is out September 7th, and you can expect our full breakdown of it that same week. Will it be the Spider-Man game fans have craved for years, or will it be just another sad disappointment? *cough* Spider-Man: Web of Shadows *cough*
I mean it. If there is one more freakin’ level where I gotta chase Black Cat around, I’m done.
