Batman Arkham Asylum is already a great video game, and come January, Arkham Asylum becomes a great action figure line. DC Direct has announced eight classic Batman characters in two series with their unique video game look, and it makes me want to vomit with both pure excitement, and dread of how much money I’ll be blowing on the entire collection. Take a look.
Series 1
Series 2
Joker with the little Scarface is definitely a must-buy for me. I’m no expert like out guys on Gotta Have It!, but I think all these figures look amazing. All the main characters of the game are perfectly represented in these two series, but I would love to see Commissioner Gordon or Aaron Cash figures, or maybe some of Joker’s Black Gate henchmen or Arkham inmates in a possible series 3, even if I’m the only one buying them. Who cares about rent when there are so many cool action figures to put on your shelf, right?
Speaking of little toys, the Sackboys of the PlayStation 3’s LittleBigPlanet got a Marvel make-over with some super cool and super cute costumes inspired by some of Marvel’s finest. Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and more are available for download right now, and the new costumes will be compatible with LittleBigPlanet 2. Here’s a look at a few of them.
Aren’t they adorable? On the subject of Marvel DLC, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is back on the “DL Scene” (my one and only bad joke, I promise), but sadly, not with anything new. Months ago downloadable characters were available for Marvel’s RPG, but only for a limited time. Now, in case you missed it the first time, Carnage, Magneto, Black Panther, Psylocke, and Cable are again up for purchase for $9.99, although only until December 31, which should be plenty of time.
Also, pre-order exclusive character Juggernaut is now no longer exclusive, as he can join your Marvel roster for $1.99. While it’s always good to see DLC up for grabs, I really wish we could have gotten something new. It’s been about ten months since MUA2 came out, and with no word on a MUA3, fresh DLC really would have been appreciated. Especially with Marvel’s Heroic Age, a Shield Director Steve Rogers playable character would have been really cool.
We’ve seen lots of screen shots so far for the upcoming Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, but Activision recently released the first 360 degree screenshot. Yup. A screenshot with a full 360 degrees of enjoyment. Along with the screenshot is a new trailer for the game showing off the three already announced dimensions in the game, the forth to be announced at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. See the new trailer and the 360 degree screenshot here!
I’m still hoping for Spider-Man Unlimited to be the fourth Spidy in the game, and not Ultimate Spider-Man, but chances of seeing our old animated series Spidy are slim, I know, especially since how closely he resembles Spider-Man 2099. My second hope for the final Spidy is Spider-Girl of the future, but again, with Spidy 2099 already in the game, that may be one too many future type characters.
Regardles of who the fourth Spider-Man is, what really matters is how fun the game is. And while it appears the game will offer tons of diversity, previous Spider-Man games have had all too similar and repetitive missions and gameplay. I swear, if I have to chase Black Cat around the rooftops of New York one more time, I’m swearing off Spider-Man games for good.

I just so happened to have met the guy that crafted the AA figures at the Albany Con this year, great guy!

I’m not bit on LBP, but Sackboy is one of the most adorable creations.
That Poison Ivy up there looks kind of weird. Probably the weakest of that bunch. Harley and Joker look fantastic.
Those figures look schweet!
What is LittleBigPlanet? Is it any fun? The Daredevil costume has my attention.
I just saw the Frank Castle figure and this makes me want to pick up the game now lol
