Stay Tooned Sundays: ‘Vixen’ Trailer, Jay Garrick Casting, ‘Arrow’ Changes & More from SDCC!

This edition of Stay Tooned Sunday is going to spotlight some of the upcoming animated and live action show news coming out of San Diego Comic Con this weekend! First up is the trailer for the upcoming animated Vixen series which is a spin-off that takes place in the Arrow/Flash television universe! Vixen will be voiced by Megalyn Echikunwoke while we’ll also hear the familiar voices of Grant Gustin (Flash), Stephen Amell (Arrow), Carlos Valdes (Cisco), and more!

The trailer looks great but we can only hope she’ll appear in live action soon enough! For more about Vixen click here!

The season finale of The Flash was chock full of easter eggs and surprises but one that really got fans excited was the appearance of Jay Garrick’s helmet! It has now been confirmed that the role of the Golden Age speedster will be played by Teddy Sears (Masters of Sex, Raising the Bar). The other new addition to the cast will be Shantel VanSanten in the role of Patty Spivot. She’ll be Joe’s new partner and a science enthusiast who will also have a crush on Barry. This trailer is a pretty nice recap of the first season with some surprises and hints to season 2 thrown in as well!

The last season of Arrow garnered very mixed reactions from fans and left many questioning several of the plot decisions. Well hopefully the next season redeems the show and gets some of the characters *cough* Felicity *cough* back on track. It does seem there have been two changes to the show as Oliver Queen has taken on the full moniker ‘Green Arrow’ as he stated in a presentation (in character) to a packed SDCC audience while wearing the brand new costume shown below along with a highlight reel!

It was also confirmed by Arrow producer, Greg Berlanti, that Mr. Terriffic will also be joining the cast in season 4 and will be working with Felicity. Lucky guy! Now there have been two men to carry that name in the DCU but we’ll most likely be seeing the more recent incarnation in Michael Holt, seen below.

Prepare to build and break all over again in the upcoming LEGO Marvel’s Avengers which will feature storylines from Marvel’s The Avengers, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and more! During the panel Stan Lee discussed his involvement with the game as well as his own Iron Man armor and the ‘Stan-Buster’ suit! Some of the characters shown below are America Chavez, Captain America (Sam Wilson), and Crossbones who will be featured in the upcoming Captain America movie!

You will be able to pick up LEGO Marvel’s Avengers this winter on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC and play to your heart’s content!

So, there you have it folks! All of the shows look promising as DC/WB have been on a roll as far as their animated projects and I have yet to play a LEGO/Marvel game that didn’t impress and provide hours of fun. Hopefully the next season of Arrow improves on the series but The Flash is heading into it’s second season with a lot of momentum behind it so let’s hope it stays on pace to be even better than the first one!

Till next time!
