This is not a joke folks: George Lucas has given the thumbs up to Seth Green and Matthew Seinrich, of Robot Chicken fame, to work with Lucas Animation and be the minds behind a currently untitled Star Wars comedy television series! Not too many details have been released regarding plot and no network has been announced. We do know, based on a report in Variety, that Todd Grimes will direct (Back at the Barnyard) and writer Brendan Hay (The Daily Show) will be doing a chunk of the scripts.
Seth Green said in a statement: ” The Star Wars universe is so dense and rich; it’s crazy to think that there aren’t normal, mundane everyday problems in a world so well-defined. And it’s even crazier to think of what those problems might be, since it’s all set in a galaxy far, far away. What do these characters do when they’re not overthrowing Empires?”
Based on this statement, I’m guessing it’s going to be a comedy series that’s set in continuation of the Star Wars universe and not a parody show, like the two Emmy nominated Robot Chicken Star Wars specials. So will it work? Last time humor was purposely inserted in the Star Wars universe we got…well, we got Jar-Jar Binks. However, it can’t be worse than that Holiday Special, right? Thoughts?

If it’s ‘Tag and Bink’ style humor, count me in.
I think this is a great idea. I can’t wait!
@Speech- You’re right on the money. It’s either going to be hilarious or tank miserably.
I’m looking forward to it!
