Welcome to the World of Sora
New young adult web manga follows four girls battling for a way home, and finding themselves along the way.
In classic coming-of-age fashion, Sora follows the adventures of Jishin, Unmei, Ayumi, and Misako as they are ripped from home and dropped into the vivid world of Sora. There, four very different young women are swept into a complex realm of warring nations and divine secrets. Crossing spells and swords with hostile forces is only half the struggle. “Each girl in Sora has her own personal conflicts she needs to deal with, all the while trying to survive and find a way home.” The battles will be ferocious, and no one will come out unscathed.
Courtney L. Kraft has been immersed in the world of anime and manga for the last decade. At G4 Television, she was the producer of Anime Unleashed and occasionally appears on “Fresh Ink Online.” She hosts “AX Live,” Anime Expo’s weekly webcast, and emceed the opening and closing ceremonies for the convention’s 20th anniversary. Writing her own manga has allowed Kraft to live the dream, creating as well as enjoying the work she loves. “I’m inspired by adventure shoujo manga such as classics Fushigi Yuugi and The Vision of Escaflowne. What’s important to me are strong female leads who accomplish impossible tasks though self-actualization, not through getting married like Disney princesses.”
GEIKOU, born Amber Chen, has been drawing since she could hold a pencil. At first there were a lot of horses, but with the discovery of anime, her art took on a storytelling aspect. Completely self-taught, she has worked in the video game industry and been published in Ballistic Publishing’s art book series, Exotique. Currently, she is a free-lance illustrator based in Atlanta, working on both Sora and an online BL novel, Demons Never Cry (http://red-quill.com/). More of her art can be found on her website (http://www.kagaminoir.com) and at http://kagaminoir.deviantart.com
Sora will update with two side-by-side pages, graphic novel style, once per week.
Both Kraft and GEIKOU can be reached at info@worldofsora.com.
