I’m going to start off this time with the summary of the artwork: GORE-geous! If you have not had a chance to see Riley Rossmo’s work before, I suggest just taking a look at the cover for this issue. You get good stylized characters that kind of have this unique gritty look to them, which only adds to the overall feel of the book. The colors are great from page to page, and there are even some cool little hidden gems that can be found in some of the panels. Just a great looking issue.
Story: 4.0 out of 5
For people who have not read Proof before, this issue does a good short job of bringing you up to speed. I honestly loved the quick recap, because it laid the foundation, but didn’t throw too much at me. The story in this issue lives up to the hype of this title as well. It takes so many myths and creates this almost unending world of wonder around them. The only downside to this first issue was that I felt there may have been too much going on. Good plot points are made, but were there too many to begin with? Only time can tell.

This book looks good and reads great. Proof is a series that contains nothing but intrigue and fun. This issue grabs you quickly with some action and then begins to build on what will be happening in the coming issues. I also love the fact that I don’t necessarily have to say you need to go back and read the first volume. This is a safe jumping on point, that I think you should try to check out.

Never heard of Proof actually but after reading this it looks like another book I have to put on my “to get” list. I take it that it would still be helpful to know the story that came before this issue right?
Well like I said there is a quick recap, but yes you might want to look at the Proof wiki page before jumping on, but I am fairly certain you would be safe to jump on at this point.

recaps only give you so much and the wiki gives too many spoilers lol I’m cool playing “catch up”. I’m doing it with Locke & Key thanks to you lol
I concur with Andy. It was definitely my favorite series while it was being published; can’t wait to get my hands on this new mini and the last trade of “season 1!”
